Volume Three: The Dao of the Ten Directions, Chapter Ninety-Three: The Frenzied Battle Art
After brutal training and inhuman torment, only the very best of the best could remain.
When they saw the manual, everyone suddenly felt that the hardships they had endured were nothing at all.
Martial arts methods were precious inheritances. For ordinary people, obtaining such a technique was exceedingly difficult, yet now everyone held a handwritten copy, and it was no low-grade art either.
This sent the whole crowd into joyous surprise. After Qin Yang tossed the techniques to them, he never came back.
The Battle Frenzy Art.
Its principle was to sustain war through war, to fight bloodily in all directions. Within it, there was also a special state known as Frenzied Dragon Madness. If one could comprehend this realm, then in the midst of savage battle one’s own strength could surge by a full fold.
But this method of increasing power came with a fatal side effect: true energy could not be used for three days.
When life itself was at stake, who would care about such things?
This technique could allow everyone to cultivate all the way to the Profound Communion Realm. As for whether they could truly reach it, that would depend on their own fortune.
The other veteran members stared at the people in the square with envy.
Especially after hearing that the Battle Frenzy Art was of a higher level than the techniques they themselves cultivated, each of them wished they could change methods at once.
Alas, the arts they practiced were already deeply rooted; to switch rashly would not be worth the loss.
So now they could only stare longingly, unable to cultivate it.
Hiding in the alchemy room, Qin Yang simply refused to come out, leaving everything entirely in Cold Sky's hands. During this time, he refined many pills and divided them into three portions.
He had Beauty deliver one portion to Dragon Battle, the second portion was for the members of the Demon Squad to consume, and the third portion—do I even need to say it?
Naturally, that went into his own pocket. What a joke. If he worked himself to death and gained not a single benefit, he might as well not have come at all.
For some of the better pills, he even had to sample them himself, as he put it, to taste how they were.
The steady stream of pills delighted Dragon Battle immensely. He began to use his authority to the fullest, purchasing medicinal herbs on a large scale and having Beauty deliver them over specially.
During this period, Brave Eagle watched the other side every day. He told no one about it, not even his own son.
His eyes were full of suspicion. A whole month had passed, and the other party still had not shown his face even once, which made him furious.
He had been hoping to seize the technique that could instantly enhance strength, then study it carefully and break through to the peak of the Profound Communion Realm.
Damn it, this fellow really knew how to endure.
Though he was seething with anger, there was nothing he could do. If he made a move inside the base, he would inevitably be hunted down, and he clearly had no intention of spending his days on the run.
Inside the alchemy room, the temperature was scorching. Especially after comprehending the Five Elements Way, he found alchemy even more effortless. After refining it so many times, the failure rate was under two percent.
Each successful batch was above ninety-five percent.
Fortunately, there was no one here to witness it, or else they would have been shocked senseless.
No one had ever heard of an alchemist with such an outrageous success rate.
Dragon Battle did not understand any of this. Each time, he simply brought three portions of medicinal materials in exchange for one furnace of pills.
Now that he had ample pills in hand, Dragon Battle stood straighter too. In the past, he had never dared to distribute pills, but now the internal allocation within the Dragon Group had begun.
Any member who made significant contributions to the Dragon Group could receive pill and technique rewards. This had never existed before, and they owed all of it to one person: Qin Yang of the Northern Sea.
Of course, these matters were still being kept secret, and no one knew where the pills came from.
Another half month passed. By now, even Dragon Battle could no longer hold out; there were simply no more medicinal materials left to gather. Qin Yang had no choice but to stop and announce the end of his seclusion.
Standing atop the mountain peak and gazing at the splendid lands below, he suddenly saw Beauty walking toward him, her face full of confusion. The pills that were due had already been handed over, so why had she come again? Had he been caught hoarding pills for himself?
Impossible. He had clearly checked everything; there were no surveillance devices and no one was watching.
"Qin Yang, the chief asked me to come and inquire about something. Brave Eagle wants you to help refine some pills. What do you think?"
"What? That old fool knows the pills were made by me?" Qin Yang's expression changed abruptly as he hurriedly said.
"No, he doesn't know you made them. He thinks the chief knows an alchemy master and wants an introduction. The chief feels this is a good chance for the two of you to make peace, so he sent me to ask."
"You go back and tell him I won't refine anything for him." Qin Yang snorted coldly and immediately shook his head in refusal. What a joke. The other man was already coveting his technique. If he learned that Qin Yang could also refine pills, who knew what even more outrageous thing he might do?
If this bastard had him locked up and made him refine pills for him all day long, wouldn't his life be ruined?
At the thought of that, he could not help shivering.
Refining pills for that man and improving Brave Eagle's strength would be no different from strengthening the enemy.
"Tell Dragon Battle that if my identity is exposed, then he should not blame me for turning hostile."
"Hee-hee. The chief knew you'd say that, so he already turned him down for you. There's another thing too: the chief wants you to put more effort into the training. The results still aren't obvious, and now the entire military region is watching them. If you fail to train them properly, the chief will be the first to come looking for trouble."
"Fine, fine, I know. So nagging. I said it before: we'll see the results in three months."
Beauty departed. Watching her sway away with that ample backside, he almost wanted to smack it hard once. He swallowed and looked toward the lazy crowd in the square, then strode over with a dark expression.
Damn it, didn't they know how important training was right now? He was on a deadline. Half of the three months had already passed, and they were still this half-dead state. When the time came, how was he supposed to answer for it?
He had stayed long enough in this godforsaken place. He still had to return to the city to see the beauties there.
He took the training schedule from Cold Sky's hands and frowned.
"What's wrong?" Cold Sky asked in confusion.
"The training plan is too weak. Increase it tenfold by this standard."
At his low voice, the people who had been loafing around sprang to their feet at once and stared at Qin Yang.
Damn it, the Demon Sir is back.
Why was there no news? I thought he had already left!
At that moment Qin Yang seemed to recall something and said again, "Oh, right. Those who fail to complete their tasks will continue under the elimination system."
Damn! Damn! Damn!
Could he be any harsher? He comes back and immediately strikes with a killing blow!
Everyone looked at Qin Yang with resentful eyes. Unfortunately, Qin Yang paid them no mind at all. Seeing the dazed crowd, he kicked out at them.
"What are you standing around for? Get moving!"
"Demon Madam, save us!"
"Demon Madam, save us!" Everyone looked pitifully at Cold Sky, though what they did not know was that this title had been conferred by Cold Sky herself, and she had no real authority whatsoever.
She gave them an expression of helplessness, and at that moment, everyone’s last hope died.
They slung on their packs and began the grueling training.
