The Ruili Jade-Gambling Festival ran from the end of May to the end of June. Seeing that it was about to conclude, Qin Yang hurried over at the last minute.

Ye Meier had visited many times before; whenever the jade-gambling festival was held annually, she would bring her team along. Originally, she had planned to do the same this year, but following a series of unexpected events, she had abandoned the idea of coming altogether.

The reason Qin Yang brought them here this time was because he had heard from Wang Kun that someone had once discovered a spiritual stone here. A spiritual stone was a kind of crystal condensed from the primordial spiritual energy of heaven and earth. Whether used for cultivation or other purposes, it yielded twice the result with half the effort.

Having suffered consecutive injuries, Qin Yang desperately needed a terrifying amount of spiritual energy to return to his peak condition. If he were to rely solely on absorbing the ambient spiritual energy in the air, it would take him at least a year—an exorbitant length of time that he simply could not afford to wait.

As soon as they stepped off the plane, they still had a long stretch of road to cover. Catching sight of a taxi nearby, the three of them climbed in.

The driver was a local, speaking Mandarin with a rather unfluent accent, though fortunately, they could understand him. Clearly a descendant of the Yan and Huang emperors, he had nonetheless given himself a foreign name: Henry.

Hearing this name, Qin Yang genuinely wanted to plant a kick right on him. Damn it, he hadn't even mastered Chinese yet, and he went and picked a name like that—wasn't he afraid his dead old man would crawl right out of the grave?

"Henry, aren't you taking the wrong route?" Ye Meier, having visited many times, knitted her delicate brows as she looked at the path they were taking.

Upon hearing this, Henry's expression changed drastically. He hadn't expected these people to actually know the way. Damn it!

He slammed hard on the accelerator and swiftly veered into an abandoned alleyway.

Henry stepped out of the car, his face beaming with smiles. "Hehe, Brother Bao, this time we've got two top-tier chicks. They're here traveling and must have brought quite a bit of cash."

Though they were speaking in dialect, Qin Yang could still grasp the meaning of their words and let out a cold snort. Of all people to mess with, they just had to mess with them.

Looking out through the glass, he discovered that over a dozen petty thugs had gathered outside. They probably made a living by scamming and trapping tourists, a method that was undeniably cunning. After all, when tourists came by, unfamiliar with the land and people, what could they do even if they were robbed?

The man called Brother Bao looked at the two exquisite, jade-like beauties inside the car and was overjoyed. He patted Henry on the shoulder and said, "Henry, you did a good job. I'll reward you with a thousand bucks, and I won't waive this month's rent either."

Hearing this, Henry wore a wide smile, feeling not a shred of guilt in his heart.

Qin Yang lit a cigarette and leaned against the car, while Zhang Mengqi and Ye Meier had already stepped out.

Surrounding thugs caught sight of the peerless beauties and instantly widened their eyes. When had they ever laid eyes on such stunners? They looked like fairies descended from a painting or celebrities straight off the television, radiating breathtaking beauty.

Ye Meier was already naturally gorgeous, and coupled with her cultivation and stepping into the ranks of martial artists, she was even more mesmerizing with her curvaceous figure. As she channeled the Myriad Realms Void Technique just a fraction, everyone present froze in a daze.

Watching Ye Meier's methods, Zhang Mengqi's face was filled with envy. Without lifting a finger, she had these bastards wrapped around her little finger.

Henry was standing in his spot when Brother Bao suddenly kicked him flying, leaving him completely dumbfounded. What happened to the promised bonus? What happened to the waived rent? Those perks hadn't been handed over yet, and instead, he received a kick to the chest. What the hell was the meaning of this?

Damn it, was this guy planning to renege and pretend he didn't know him?

Just as he was about to start cursing aloud, he was startled awake by a sound like silver bells. Glancing over at the enchanting woman with her myriad captivating charms, panic filled his heart. Could these people have been controlled by some sort of sorcery?

"Brother Bao!"
"Brother Bao!"

No matter how he shouted, Brother Bao showed no reaction whatsoever. At that moment, a slightly cold voice rang out: "Go turn yourselves in at the police station."

The dozen or so men hurriedly climbed into the vehicle and drove off toward the police station.

Henry was completely dumbfounded. He dropped to his knees, his face streaming with tears. "Big brother, big sister, I was wrong! I shouldn't have been blinded by greed for a thousand yuan. You can punish me however you like, but please don't cripple me! I have a ninety-year-old grandmother above and a newborn son below!"

Watching Henry, Qin Yang shook his head. Life was like a play, and it was all about acting. He had to admit that Henry's acting skills were truly top-notch; not becoming an actor was a massive waste.

"Cut the crap, stop talking so much nonsense. Take us to Ruili. Say one more useless word, and I'll finish you off right now."

Henry didn't dare utter another useless word. He scrambled up from the ground in a rush, got behind the wheel, and drove the three of them at full speed toward Ruili.

Inside the car, he concentrated wholly on driving, hoping only to deliver them safely and then make his escape as fast as possible.

In Ruili, the jade-gambling festival had reached its final stage, drawing massive crowds.

As soon as they arrived and got out of the car, a police officer walked over, nodded at Qin Yang, and led Henry away.

The commotion here was not insignificant, yet it failed to stir much surprise among the onlookers. After all, where there were crowds there were disputes, and such occurrences were far too common to bat an eye at.

Zhang Mengqi looked at Qin Yang, her eyes full of puzzlement. "Qin Yang, since he was so pitiful, why did you still hand him over to the police?"

"Because what he said was a lie."

"A lie? No way!" Zhang Mengqi's face was etched with astonishment. She had just watched Henry speak with such utter sincerity—how could it possibly be a lie?

"Hehe, little Mengqi, Henry was definitely lying; there's no doubt about that. You still have a lot to learn."

Glancing at Ye Meier's retreating back, Zhang Mengqi bit her lower lip and let out a cold huff. Stamping her foot, she hurried to follow them once more.

Two top-tier beauties accompanied by an exceptionally handsome man resulted in a three-hundred-percent head-turning rate. Everyone was craning their necks to see if they were celebrities. Unfortunately, searching their memories yielded no resemblance to any of the three people before them.

Qin Yang felt a twinge of regret. Had he known it would be this troublesome, he should have made himself look a bit uglier. Now, everyone was staring at them as if they were exhibits in a zoo, making him extremely uncomfortable.

The three of them walked further inward when the sudden sound of firecrackers echoed through the air, and the surrounding crowd bolted forward once again.

Ye Meier looked at Qin Yang and smiled. "Looks like someone struck gold and unearthed a fine piece of jadeite, otherwise they wouldn't be setting off firecrackers."

"Well? Want to go take a look?" Ye Meier looped her arm around Qin Yang's, blowing a breath of orchid-like fragrance into his ear, making his heart itch with temptation.

Zhang Mengqi felt a surge of intense irritation. Gritting her teeth, she grabbed Qin Yang's other arm and strolled forward as if nothing was amiss.

The surrounding onlookers stared at the trio and collectively drew in sharp breaths of air.

Damn, this dude is an absolute beast, successfully taming two top-tier beauties all at once. Alas, a handsome man matched with gorgeous women—a perfect pair. If only they knew what method this brother used; wouldn't it be wonderful to learn a thing or two?

The male compatriots looked at Qin Yang with faces full of envy. They, too, wanted to embrace beauties on both arms, but modern society simply didn't allow it. What's more, with women's independence, universal equality, and the nation enforcing a strict monogamous system, female friends would never share their boyfriends with others. Sharing a husband was even more out of the question.
