Zhao Wind said nothing more. Leaning back in his seat, he soon fell into a deep, rumbling sleep.

In a corner nearby, someone muttered to himself, "A third-stage martial artist won’t amount to much. I only hope you don’t become my obstacle."

Inside Zhao Wind, a cold sneer rose. "I hope you don’t come looking for me. Otherwise, Demon City will be your grave."

Their inner monologues seemed like a conversation.

The bald man did not stop there.

His restless eyes drifted toward Crimson Field, who was seated beside Zhao Wind. He stared at her fixedly.

"Truly a rare beauty," he thought with admiration.

By then, Crimson Field was nearly at the end of her patience.

She started to rise at once.

Zhao Wind caught her wrist and moved his lips slightly.

A voice sounded in Crimson Field’s mind. "There is another cultivator on the plane."

Crimson Field was stunned.

She looked at Zhao Wind in a daze.

Yet Zhao Wind only wore an eye mask and snored softly.

Crimson Field drew a deep breath and slowly sat back down.

Her heart was in turmoil. She had never imagined there would be another cultivator aboard the plane, and she had failed to notice anything at all.

Fortunately, both she and Zhao Wind had cultivated the Heaven-Swallowing Demonic Art. Its extraordinary trait was the ability to conceal one’s aura.

Crimson Field broke out in a cold sweat.

She wanted to turn her head and look, but Zhao Wind’s voice sounded again in her mind.

"Don’t look back. You’ll ruin my plan."

Crimson Field frowned.

His voice sounded once more. "Just speak to me in your mind."

Crimson Field took another breath. "Who are they?"

Zhao Wind shook his head. "I don’t know either. They should be part of some organization."

"What organization?"

Zhao Wind rolled his eyes. "If I knew what organization they belonged to, would I still need to be so cautious?"

Crimson Field said disdainfully, "I refuse to believe they have a master at the tenth level of Qi Refinement!"

"Alas."

Zhao Wind sighed and said quietly, "You have always tried to uncover my origins. In truth, I have the same curiosity about you. But I possess many methods that surpass this mortal world."

"If even I cannot see through them, think for yourself how formidable they must be."

Crimson Field frowned. "Then I’ll rush over right now and beat them into the ground. I refuse to believe I won’t get answers out of them!"

Zhao Wind was speechless. He always felt that Crimson Field was far too hot-blooded.

Rubbing his nose, he could only soothe her. "Our target is the Blazing Sun Stone, the final legacy in the cave. Don’t lower yourself to their level."

"Hmph."

Crimson Field gave a huff and sat back in her seat, still unwilling.

Zhao Wind was helpless. At last, he had managed to calm this powder keg.

Above the cloudless sky, a plane flew at high speed.

Suddenly, a crow slammed into the windshield.

The captain in the cockpit froze, and the co-pilot beside him froze as well.

"At this altitude, how could there be birds?"

Then another crow came hurtling in.

Boom!

It smashed straight into the windshield.

The captain’s face drained of color. What horrified him was that his field of vision was suddenly filled with countless crows.

He let out a shriek. "What is going on?!"

The co-pilot looked equally as though he had seen a ghost. "What do we do, Captain?!"

The captain quickly forced himself to calm down. After all, he had once flown fighter jets.

"I’m taking the plane down now!"

"All right!"

He switched to manual controls, pushed the throttle lever, and began lowering the aircraft.

But how could a plane flying at such speed suddenly descend without issue?

Buzzing roars filled the air.

The entire aircraft began to tremble violently.

That shaking spread through the cabin, causing severe turbulence.

Everyone was horrified.

"What’s happening?!"

"Why is the plane shaking so badly?!"

"Could it be strong turbulence?!"

"It must be!"

At the first sign of trouble, the flight attendants sprang into action.

They moved through economy and business class, calming the passengers.

The chief flight attendant took the microphone. "Dear passengers, the plane has encountered strong turbulence. Please fasten your seat belts and remain calm!"

"Our captain is professionally trained, so please do not be afraid!"

She repeated the announcement over and over, and the passengers gradually steadied their emotions.

However, the situation in the cockpit was far from optimistic.

The captain and co-pilot both stared ahead with grim faces.

Outside the windshield, the sky was packed densely with a vast swarm of crows.

Bang!

A crow, reckless and fearless, crashed forward.

Cracks instantly spread across the windshield.

Bang, bang!

Crow after crow slammed into the glass one after another.

The captain was aghast, because the windshield was already split with a web of cracks.

Bang!

Bang, bang, bang!

Tens of thousands of crows furiously battered the glass.

At last, with a crash, the windshield shattered into fragments that flew everywhere.

Ah!

A huge mass of crows surged toward the two men in the cockpit as though intent on tearing at their flesh and drinking their blood.

The captain and co-pilot screamed in terror.

Then, abruptly, the crows in the sky changed their target. They turned and rushed toward the engines.

One, two, three, ten, then thousands upon thousands of crows, all plunging madly at the engines.

In just an instant, the engine exploded and spewed thick black smoke.

The passengers in the cabin saw it, and panic erupted immediately.

"Look! The engine is on fire!"

"Waaah! Oh my God, what do we do?!"

"Are we going to die?!"

"Yes, yes!"

"What do we do now?!"

Nervous cries filled the cabin, and some of the women had already begun to sob.

Zhao Wind saw all of this.

Looking out the window, his expression turned exceptionally dark.

"Come with me."

He seized Crimson Field’s hand.

"What is it?" she said unhappily.

In a low voice, Zhao Wind said, "We need to get out of here."

"Get out?"

"Yes."

Crimson Field’s face turned iron-gray. "We’re not going to save them? You’re just going to watch these people die?!"

Zhao Wind said coldly, "I can’t reveal myself yet. I can’t let this disrupt my plan."

Crimson Field’s pretty face flushed with anger. "Then go to hell! What matters more, your plan or human lives?!"

Without the slightest hesitation, Zhao Wind said, "The plan."

"Fine, Zhao Wind! Then go die!"

What he did not say was that every plan he had at this point was being prepared for the overthrow of the Immortal Gate.

Crimson Field drew a deep breath, her ample chest rising and falling. "If you’re leaving, then leave. I’m staying to save them."

Zhao Wind fixed her with a stern look. "You can’t save them. It will expose us."

"Then let it be exposed!"

While they argued, the plane had already begun to fall freely.

Zhao Wind’s face grew even darker. "No time left. We have to go now!"

Crimson Field remained stubborn. "If you’re leaving, then go!"

"You..."

"Why are you so stubborn?!"

Crimson Field said nothing. She sprang to her feet, channeled the spiritual energy in her dantian, and prepared to strike at any moment.

By then, the plane was already less than a thousand meters from the ground. It was all happening in the blink of an eye.
