Xia Lin wore a thin pink gauze robe, sitting on the bed with one leg crossed over the other. Zhao Feng happened to glance her way and was startled out of his wits: “She… she’s actually not wearing that!” He touched his nose, realizing Xia Lin must have just woken up. Still, what kind of habit was this? Did she really like to sleep unclothed?

Lighting a slim cigarette, Xia Lin said, “If you want a house, Zhao Feng, I can give you one. And it’ll be in the best district of Huai’an County!”

Zhao Feng shook his head. “No need. I have ten million right now and don’t even know how to spend it.”

Xia Lin rolled her eyes. “Who would ever think they have too much money?”

He shook his head again. “I’m different. Money is just a number to me—it doesn’t mean much. And to be honest, the things of the mundane world don’t attract me at all.”

“Then why are you buying a house?” she teased.

He rolled his eyes back at her. “The house is for my parents.”

“Alright then.”

Xia Lin stretched lazily, a breathtaking sight on full display.

With a sly curl at her lips, she said, “As it happens, I have a friend who manages a real estate company. I’ll send you her contact.”

“Alright!”

Yet Xia Lin folded her arms, making no move to do so.

Zhao Feng frowned. “What’s wrong?”

Wearing rose-tinted glasses, Xia Lin exuded an air of intelligence and allure. She pouted playfully. “Oh, my neck hurts, and my shoulders too. It’s been ages since I had a massage.”

Zhao Feng was at a loss and rolled his eyes. He got up and came over to her. “Lie down.”

She made a face. “Are you sure you know what you’re doing?”

He snorted. “Are you going to let me help or not? If not, I’m leaving.”

“Don’t! Go ahead, go ahead!”

He let out a mocking laugh.

Kicking off her slippers, Xia Lin sprawled out on the bed. Lying flat on her back, she gazed at the ceiling. “Since you’re skilled in medicine, do you have any techniques to, you know, make certain things bigger?”

“What things?”

She pouted coyly. “Oh, you’re awful! A woman’s asset, obviously.”

He rolled his eyes. “You don’t need that. Yours are big enough.”

“You’re terrible!”

It was a rare joke from Zhao Feng.

Xia Lin rolled over, lying on her stomach. Zhao Feng moved to her side, stretching his arms before placing his slender, fair hands gently on her back.

She wore only the thin pink gauze, through which her pale skin could be glimpsed. Zhao Feng swallowed hard and quickly shook his head.

“What’s come over me? Ever since I started cultivating the Devouring Heaven Demonic Art, my desires seem to have grown stronger…”

He pushed the thought aside and focused, placing both palms on her back.

A soft moan escaped Xia Lin’s lips. “Mmm… Your hands are almost magical. Just your touch makes me relax.”

He chuckled. “Of course! My body is far beyond the ordinary now.”

She turned her head and looked at him with a mischievous glint. “Oh? Maybe I should experience what’s so special about your body when you have time.”

He just shook his head, saying nothing, and began to massage her in earnest.

He pressed down firmly.

A crisp crack came from her bones.

“Mmm…” Xia Lin sighed in pleasure.

“So comfortable!”

Zhao Feng smiled. “It gets even better.”

He pressed down again, and a series of cracks sounded from her joints.

“Ahh…”

He spread his large hands and grabbed both her wrists, pulling them back in a deep stretch.

A melodious sound escaped her lips.

He laughed softly. “How was that?”

“Incredible!”

“What’s this move called?” she asked.

He rolled his eyes. “Swallow’s Flight.”

She giggled. “Keep going!”

“Alright.”

While the two were lost in their massage, outside the room, Weiwei’s face had turned green with jealousy.

Weiwei had come to Red Romance as soon as she heard Zhao Feng was there. When she arrived, she found them just beginning the massage. Every sound and word from inside reached her ears.

Standing outside, she ground her teeth in fury.

With a harsh exhale, her delicate face twisted with anger. “Those two shameless people—I won’t let you off!”

With that, she kicked open the door.

Inside the room, the pair froze mid-massage.

Zhao Feng blinked. Xia Lin did too.

“Weiwei? What are you doing here?” Xia Lin shrieked.

Weiwei snorted, refusing to answer. She looked at Zhao Feng. “Come out, I need to talk to you.”

Both Zhao Feng and Xia Lin still held their awkward pose—Zhao Feng standing behind her, gripping her arms.

He started and quickly let go, rubbing his nose. “What is it?”

“I don’t have time for nonsense. Come out, I have something important to discuss!”

“Alright.”

Seeing her so serious, Zhao Feng said nothing more and followed her out.

“Xiang Tao called me,” Weiwei said as soon as they were alone.

Zhao Feng was surprised. “He called you?”

“That’s right.”

“What did he say?”

She exhaled, her lips parting. “He told me to kill you.”

“Kill me?” Zhao Feng frowned.

“Yes.”

He stroked his chin, thinking. “Did he say anything else? Drop any hints? Maybe something about a wealthy merchant from Hong Kong?”

Weiwei frowned, trying to recall. “He did mention something…”

“What was it?” Zhao Feng’s interest was piqued, but only a little. Whether it was Xiang Tao or the Hong Kong mogul, they were all mortals. He, after all, had returned from the Immortal Sect and had seen far greater things.

Weiwei thought hard. “I think he said he’s about to become an immortal!”

“An immortal?”

“Yes.”

“He means a cultivator, right?”

“That’s it!” Weiwei was a little excited. “That’s the word he used—cultivator!”

Zhao Feng let out a cold laugh. “So what if he becomes a cultivator? At best, they’re just low-level ones.”

He was certain the Hong Kong merchant’s level, and his so-called inheritance, wouldn’t be very advanced.

Zhao Feng stroked his chin. “Did Xiang Tao say anything else?”

Weiwei frowned, trying to remember. “He said change is coming. The Du family of Hong Kong is about to rise.”

“Rise?”

“The Du family?”

“Yes.”

Zhao Feng frowned deeply. “What’s going on? Is there some upheaval I don’t know about? What is happening?”

“Why didn’t I know about any of this before I left for the Immortal Sect?”
