Chapter 76: Zhang Zhi Pays a Visit
The cultivation was completed smoothly; both Zhao Feng and the Demon Embryo had reached the tenth level of Qi Refinement.
Zhao Feng and the Demon Embryo faced each other.
Zhao Feng said, “Go cultivate in the cave behind the mountain. Unless I summon you, you must not leave!”
“Alright!!”
With a flicker, the Demon Embryo leapt straight down from the second floor. After he left, Zhao Feng stepped out of his room.
As soon as she saw Zhao Feng come out, Nannan hurried over and hugged his leg.
Nannan tilted up her innocent little face. “Big Brother Zhao Feng, play with me, please!”
Zhao Feng stroked Nannan’s head and was about to reply when Xianglan spoke up from the side. “Nannan, come over here. Don’t bother your brother Zhao Feng!”
“But, but…”
“Come here!!”
“Oh!” Nannan bowed her head, staring dejectedly at her little feet.
Zhao Feng smiled. “It’s alright, Sister Xianglan! I actually have something to ask of you.”
Xianglan was taken aback. “Ask me? What is it?”
With a gentle smile, Zhao Feng said, “It’s nothing serious. I just need a drop of your heart’s blood.”
“Heart’s blood?!”
“Yes.”
Xianglan glanced at Nannan. “Is it to treat Nannan’s illness?”
Zhao Feng shook his head. “No.”
“Then—?”
Zhao Feng smiled again. “It’s for something else, nothing bad, I promise.”
“Oh.” Xianglan made a sound of acknowledgement, not pressing further, though her cheeks flushed pink.
What Zhao Feng didn’t say was that the newly formed Demon Embryo, though it had already received Xiang Hu’s soul imprint, was still only a body—a puppet that required a drop of heart’s blood to fully activate.
Xianglan unfastened the top button of her blouse. “Come with me.”
“Alright.”
They entered the room, and Xianglan locked the door behind them. Then, she began unbuttoning her blouse one button at a time. Instantly, her fair, womanly skin was revealed. She wore an old-fashioned, flesh-colored undergarment, but on her, it exuded the charm of a mature woman.
Zhao Feng gestured to a chair. “Have a seat, Sister Xianglan.”
Her cheeks grew even redder. “Alright.”
After she sat down, Zhao Feng stepped in front of her.
He smiled gently. “I’m going to start now. It might sting a little.”
Xianglan shook her head. “That’s fine.”
“Alright, let’s begin.”
Zhao Feng extended his right hand, gathering his spiritual energy. A slender, emerald-green needle of aura formed between his fingers.
He gently pricked Xianglan over her heart. Instantly, a drop of crimson blood welled up.
Zhao Feng quickly held out his right hand, letting the drop fall into a small jade bottle.
When it was done, Zhao Feng smiled. “That’s all, Sister Xianglan.”
“Oh.” She gave a soft reply, just as she was about to stand up.
Suddenly.
With a snap, something seemed to break.
Both of them were startled.
Zhao Feng glanced at Xianglan, and she looked down at her chest.
“Ah!!” Xianglan let out a sharp cry. The clasp of her undergarment had popped open.
Before Zhao Feng’s eyes was a flash of dazzling whiteness—almost blinding. Though Xianglan’s figure was slender, her body was exquisite, with all the right curves in all the right places.
Zhao Feng touched his nose, unwilling to turn away.
Behind him, Xianglan hurriedly put her clothes back on.
He gave an awkward laugh. “Sister Xianglan, I’ll step out now.”
“Oh, yes! Please!”
“Alright.”
Thud, thud, thud!!
The sound of the front gate echoed from the yard.
Zhao Feng frowned. “Who could it be?”
He headed downstairs to answer the door.
Xianglan brushed her hair aside. “Let me.”
At this moment, only Zhao Jun and his wife, Xianglan and her daughter, and Zhao Feng himself were in the house. Li Ping and Li Dan had already left, and Chen Ying had moved to the village committee’s quarters.
Xianglan opened the door to see a student about Zhao Feng’s age.
She blinked. “Who are you looking for?”
Kang Hao greeted her with a grin. “Sister-in-law, it’s me! That night at the snack street…”
Realization dawned on Xianglan. “Oh, it’s you, one of Zhao Feng’s classmates?”
“Yes, yes!!” Kang Hao nodded eagerly. “That’s right, it’s me!”
She frowned. “What are you here for?”
Kang Hao rubbed his nose. “Sister-in-law, I’m here to see a doctor.”
“To see a doctor?”
“Yes.”
“For whom?” Xianglan asked.
Kang Hao clapped his hands, and from the business van behind him, Lin Min wheeled Zhang Zhi out.
Xianglan glanced at Zhang Zhi. “Are you also Zhao Feng’s classmate? I remember you.”
Zhang Zhi hurriedly pleaded, “Sister-in-law, please help me!”
Her face flushed instantly. Why did everyone keep calling her “sister-in-law”?
Zhao Feng had walked over at some point.
He looked at the group. “What are you all doing here?”
Kang Hao grinned. “Hey, long time no see, Xiaofeng! We’re classmates, after all!”
He rushed to the trunk, opened it, and hauled out several boxes and bags. “Uncle, Auntie—are they well? I came to visit them!”
Zhao Feng glanced at their offerings and let it go—they were, after all, classmates. Besides, being around them always seemed to shift his mindset in a positive direction.
He stroked his chin. “So, what brings you here?”
“Well…” Zhang Zhi hesitated.
Zhao Feng rolled his eyes. “Just say it—we’re all classmates here.”
“Alright!” Zhang Zhi said, aggrieved, “Xiaofeng, I twisted my ankle that night. I thought it was just a sprain, but after seeing a few hospitals, they all wanted to amputate! So we came to you.”
Zhao Feng was surprised. “How did you know I could treat illnesses?”
“Uh…”
“Speak!” Zhao Feng frowned, a little annoyed.
“Yes, yes!!” Zhang Zhi replied miserably, “It was Sister Xia Lin who told me!”
“Xia Lin?”
“Yes! We’re cousins.”
“Cousins?” Zhao Feng was surprised.
“Yes.”
He rubbed his chin. “I really couldn’t tell.”
Zhang Zhi smiled wryly.
Zhao Feng waved his hand. “Alright, I get it. Come on in.”
“Alright!” Kang Hao and Lin Min perked up instantly.
Everyone entered the house.
Zhao Feng pointed at the sofa. “Sit wherever you like.”
“Thank you!”
They sat down.
Zhao Feng came to Zhang Zhi’s side. “Let me take a look.”
“Please!” Zhang Zhi was beside himself with excitement.
Zhao Feng knelt down and rolled up his pant leg, surprised at what he saw.
Zhang Zhi’s left foot was swollen and red, as bloated as a pig’s trotter.
He frowned. “What happened? How did it get so bad? This shouldn’t have happened.”
Zhang Zhi shook his head. “I don’t know!”
“Did you walk on it?”
Zhang Zhi nodded. “Yes! After I got home that night, my foot didn’t hurt anymore, so I went to play basketball. The next day it was like this!”
“No wonder!”
“Can it be cured?” Zhang Zhi asked hopefully.
Zhao Feng nodded. “It’s a small matter.”
“Really?”
He rolled his eyes. “What else would it be?”
