Chapter 141: Fierce Battle
"Ah!!"
Geng Wei stood completely naked, brandishing a kitchen knife in his hand, letting out a roar akin to a wild beast.
At this moment, he bared his fangs and brandished his claws, his eyes bloodshot, with saliva dripping from his mouth.
He swung the kitchen knife continuously, terrifying the surrounding people into scurrying away for safety.
The members of the Red Bureau stood on high alert, watching Geng Wei closely.
Yuan Jie’s pretty face turned livid. "Has the ambulance been called?"
An officer beside her replied, "Chief Yuan, it has already been called!"
Yuan Jie nodded.
She was merely a tier-three martial artist, and the organization she belonged to was simply a martial artists' association, only a notch above ordinary people. Consequently, she knew nothing about the organizations of immortal cultivators, nor had she ever heard of the Dragon Kingdom's God of War Unit.
Therefore, she failed to perceive that Geng Wei was being manipulated by an immortal cultivator.
Yuan Jie took a deep breath, her delicate mouth slightly agape, her pretty face ashen. "This lunatic! I'll make sure they give him a few extra doses of sedatives later!"
"Wee-woo, wee-woo!!"
The siren of an ambulance wailed in the distance.
Yuan Jie let out a sigh of relief.
"Clatter, clatter!!"
The ambulance doors flew open, and a team of angels in white descended from it. Leading them was a tall and handsome male.
He wore a face mask and waved his hand.
In an instant, a nurse carrying a medical kit stepped forward and handed the kit over to Yuan Jie.
After catching it, Yuan Jie felt a great deal of relief, knowing that inside were precisely the medical sedatives.
Yuan Jie passed the medical kit to her assistant. Her assistant took it, hastily drew out a tranquilizer gun, and loaded it with a sedative.
He glanced at Yuan Jie, seeking her confirmation.
Yuan Jie nodded.
Receiving the order, the assistant raised the tranquilizer gun, and with a sharp "bang," fired directly at Geng Wei.
"Whoosh!"
A syringe dart embedded itself into Geng Wei's neck.
He froze for a moment, his frenzied state clearing up considerably.
He touched his neck and pulled out the syringe. Before he could fully regain his senses, however, he plunged back into madness.
"Roar!!"
"Roar, roar!"
Geng Wei bared his teeth and brandished his claws, hurling the kitchen knife in his hand straight forward.
"Eek!!"
A nurse shrieked as the kitchen knife flew directly toward her.
Just as she was about to meet a gruesome doom, a dark figure suddenly materialized.
The dark figure possessed a lithe and athletic female form. Reaching out, she firmly grabbed the hilt of the flying knife.
This figure was none other than Yuan Jie.
Yuan Jie’s pretty face was frosted with ice, tinged with anger.
"Riot police! Move in!"
"Yes!!"
Upon receiving the command, the members of the riot squad raised their shields and brandished their spray batons, closing in on Geng Wei.
"Roar!"
"Roar, roar!!"
Geng Wei bared his fangs and claws, roaring ferociously at the crowd.
"Hmph!!"
Yuan Jie’s patience had run out.
Originally, she had wanted to avoid a physical confrontation because there were too many civilians around. She could not display supernatural abilities nor expose extraordinary powers.
But now, she could no longer afford to care about that.
Dressed in her sharp and heroic police uniform, Yuan Jie took off her cap and unbuttoned the top collar of her shirt.
"Hmph!!"
With a cold snort, she sprang into the air in a single bound.
In a fraction of a second, she landed right beside Geng Wei.
Geng Wei froze for an instant, though a trace of clarity flickered within his crazed eyes. That flash of lucidity carried a hint of disdain—it was quite apparent that this was not Geng Wei's own expression.
Yuan Jie steadied her breath and assumed the stance of Bajiquan.
Bending her slender waist and pivoting sharply, she delivered a fierce whip kick.
"Bang!!"
The dull thud of colliding limbs echoed through the air.
The victory-in-one-strike she had anticipated did not occur.
A bloodthirsty smile graced Geng Wei's face as his right hand clamped firmly around Yuan Jie’s ankle.
Yuan Jie’s large eyes widened in sheer astonishment. "A... A martial artist?"
"Bang!!"
"Bang, bang!"
Geng Wei unleashed a flurry of kicks, which Yuan Jie blocked with mounting strain.
By this point, a profound shock had gripped Yuan Jie’s heart.
"What is going on here?? How could there be a martial artist of such a high rank??"
Yuan Jie’s expression grew grim.
As of now, she remained completely unaware that the one controlling Geng Wei was actually an immortal cultivator.
"Roar!!"
Geng Wei roared like a madman, his attacks completely devoid of form or method—nothing more than wild, chaotic punches.
Yet, even against these chaotic blows, Yuan Jie found herself struggling immensely.
It was evident that the immortal cultivator controlling Geng Wei was not of an exceptionally high cultivation realm. At most, he was comparable to the deceased Ming Yi.
Otherwise, operating through Geng Wei, he could have unleashed far more ferocious and devastating assaults.
"Bang, bang, bang!!"
As Geng Wei lashed out with both fists, Yuan Jie could only struggle to parry the strikes.
Her pretty face grew increasingly ashen. "I never expected it would be a martial artist who has suffered a cultivation deviation running amok!"
At this juncture, Yuan Jie could only attribute Geng Wei's behavior to a deviation during his training.
Her expression grew progressively uglier, for she was fast reaching her limit and could barely hold her ground.
"Bang!!"
Following another clash, Yuan Jie was forcefully hurled backward for three meters.
"Hoo!"
"Hoo, hoo!!"
Yuan Jie gasped for breath, inhaling deeply.
Wiping the sweat from the corner of her eye, she glared angrily at Geng Wei.
"Hmph!"
To her surprise, Geng Wei let out a cold grunt at that exact moment, adopting an entirely lucid appearance.
Yuan Jie stared in utter disbelief. "You didn't suffer a cultivation deviation?!"
"Heh, heh, heh!"
Geng Wei chuckled coldly and said, "Of course I haven't suffered a cultivation deviation. How could I possibly suffer a cultivation deviation??"
Yuan Jie’s pretty face darkened completely.
With an icy tone, she stated, "Since you haven't suffered a cultivation deviation, that makes things much simpler! Martial artists are forbidden from revealing themselves to the mundane world. You have broken this rule, and now, I am going to take you into custody!!"
"Ha, ha, ha!!"
Geng Wei threw his head back and laughed maniacally, exhibiting supreme arrogance.
"Take me into custody?! You're not even worthy!"
"Boom!!"
An invisible aura abruptly erupted from Geng Wei.
With a chilling voice, he declared, "The Supreme Dharma Eye!!"
The moment the words left his mouth, Geng Wei reverted to his raving, frenzied state.
"Roar!!"
"Roar, roar!"
Yuan Jie furrowed her brows, finding it increasingly difficult to tell whether this Geng Wei truly suffered from a mental illness or not.
However, this was no time for hesitation, as Geng Wei was already lunging at her once more.
"Boom, boom, boom!"
Geng Wei unleashed a rapid succession of punches, forcing Yuan Jie into a purely defensive stance.
"Ha, ha, ha!"
Geng Wei's demeanor cleared up once more as he threw his head back in laughter. "The Supreme Dharma Eye!"
"The Supreme Dharma Eye!"
"The Supreme Dharma Eye!"
Geng Wei shouted the phrase "The Supreme Dharma Eye" three times in rapid succession.
At this point, Yuan Jie found her attention thoroughly captured by those four words.
She frowned deeply. "The Supreme Dharma Eye? What kind of organization is this??"
"It seems this must be an evil cult!"
Whether the person controlling Geng Wei did so intentionally or accidentally, it seemed they specifically wanted outsiders to learn those four words.
Yuan Jie took a deep breath, her mind rapidly settling on a decisive course of action.
"Bang!"
With a sudden explosive retreat, she slid backward across the ground for a distance.
Halting her momentum, Yuan Jie decisively drew the handgun from her waist.
Seeing Yuan Jie pull out her firearm, Geng Wei's expression cleared up for a fraction of a second—a state of clarity that was entirely the reaction of Geng Wei himself.
He stared at Yuan Jie in sheer terror, struggling to force out two syllables: "Save... me!"
"Huh?"
Yuan Jie felt a brief surge of confusion, unable to decipher the meaning behind his words.
Clutching her handgun, Yuan Jie resolved to fire.
However, right before she could pull the trigger, Geng Wei collapsed stiffly to the ground.
Everyone let out a collective breath of relief, and Yuan Jie did the same.
"It seems the medicine has finally kicked in!"
