Chapter 137: Venturing into the Li Family Again
Zhao Feng hung up the phone and hailed a taxi. Before Hong Chang could ask what was happening, Zhao Feng’s voice commanded, "Get in!"
"Oh, right!"
Hong Chang and Zhao Feng climbed into the taxi. The driver glanced at the rearview mirror and asked, "Where to?"
Zhao Feng replied indifferently, "The outskirts, the Li Estate!"
The driver was surprised. "What are you going to the Li Estate for?"
Zhao Feng’s temper flared instantly. "What business is it of yours why we’re going to the Li Estate? Are you driving or not?"
"I’m driving, I’m driving!" The driver wiped away a cold sweat, slammed his foot on the gas, and sped toward the Li Estate.
Forty minutes later, Zhao Feng and Hong Chang arrived at the gates of the Li Estate. The heavy doors were shut tight, giving the impression of a place braced for battle.
"Hmph!" Zhao Feng walked toward the gates with a displeased stride.
Suddenly, an old man emerged. He stared coldly at Zhao Feng. "Zhao Feng, is it? I advise you to turn back now."
Zhao Feng looked back at him with equal coldness. "Who are you?"
The old man uttered three words: "Return Dragon Gate!"
"Heh, heh, heh!" Zhao Feng let out a cold laugh. "So, you’re just another piece of trash from the Return Dragon Gate!"
"Hmph!" The old man snorted. "You are not permitted to insult the Return Dragon Gate!"
"Tch!" Zhao Feng sneered. "I’ll say this only once: Move aside!"
"Hmph! Stepping aside is impossible, unless you walk over my dead body!"
"Oh? I didn't realize you had such a hobby. Heh, heh, heh, then I shall oblige."
Zhao Feng gestured with his hand, and his small green sword materialized. It streaked toward the old man like a bolt of lightning. Before the man could even react, the sword flashed past, leaving a trail of blood in its wake.
"Ugh..." A thin line of blood appeared on the old man’s neck. He clutched his throat, gasping in agony.
"Thud!" He collapsed face-first.
Zhao Feng gave a cold smile and stepped over the corpse, as if fulfilling the old man’s final request.
"Ah!" The servants of the Li Estate screamed. "Murder! Someone is murdering people here!"
The servants scattered in terror, shrieking as they fled for their lives. Zhao Feng paid them no mind. He walked toward the mansion’s living room, step by step, like a figure of death. Hong Chang followed behind him without intervention; it was clear that Hong Chang was equally incensed.
Although martial artists are superior to ordinary people, they are still human. To Zhao Feng, slaughtering them felt no different than slaughtering anyone else. He might have felt a shred of guilt in the past, but now... he felt no remorse, only a hint of dark pleasure.
"Heh, heh, heh!" A demonic sneer played across Zhao Feng’s handsome face as he walked toward the living room with his hands behind his back.
When he arrived, the room was full of people. Seeing Zhao Feng, Li Zhi stood up abruptly, staring in shock. "How did you get here?"
Zhao Feng sneered. "Li Zhi, long time no see."
Li Zhi, fearful that Zhao Feng might kill him, took a step back. However, a young man’s voice rang out: "Uncle Li, do not be afraid. With me here, no one can harm you!"
Zhao Feng noticed the young man sitting there. Their gazes locked. Zhao Feng remained silent, but the young man spoke first. "So, you are Zhao Feng? Heh, heh, heh, I am the Young Master of the Return Dragon Gate, Liang Feng!"
He emphasized the word "Feng" in his name, as if to imply that Zhao Feng was unworthy of the same name. Zhao Feng ignored him, his hands still behind his back, and turned his attention to Li Zhi. "You still haven't given up, have you?"
Encouraged by Liang Feng, Li Zhi regained his composure and sneered, no longer afraid. "Li Dan is my daughter. What does that have to do with you?"
"Heh, heh, heh!" Zhao Feng laughed cruelly. "Li Dan is my woman now!"
The statement sounded like a proclamation. Liang Feng, however, looked displeased. He stood up abruptly and looked at Zhao Feng coldly. "You’re courting death!"
Zhao Feng scoffed. "Do you dare to strike me yourself?"
"I..." Liang Feng was left speechless.
Zhao Feng realized immediately that Liang Feng was far too protective of his own life to engage him directly. Liang Feng waved a hand, and an old man appeared, bowing respectfully. "Young Master, what are your orders?"
Liang Feng gestured. "Teach him a lesson!"
"Yes!"
"Boom!" The old man lunged, his hands curled into eagle claws, aiming straight for Zhao Feng’s throat. Zhao Feng merely smiled coldly. He lashed out with his right leg, delivering a series of kicks that struck the old man squarely in the abdomen.
"Ah!" The old man collapsed, clutching his stomach in agony.
"What?!" Liang Feng shrieked. "Uncle Wang is a seventh-rank martial artist! How is this possible?"
"Heh, heh, heh!" Zhao Feng laughed coldly. "Nothing is impossible."
Liang Feng stared at Zhao Feng in terror. "Who exactly are you? At your age, it is impossible to have reached the level of a seventh-rank martial artist!"
"Heh, heh, heh!" Zhao Feng sneered. "Aren't you seeing it for yourself?"
Liang Feng took a deep breath. "Do you know who I am?"
"I don't care who you are!" Zhao Feng retorted.
Liang Feng was stumped, unable to find a response. Zhao Feng ignored him and looked at Li Zhi. "Now, bring Li Dan here! I am taking her with me."
Li Zhi’s face darkened. "Martial artists are not meant to reveal themselves to the world. Aren't you being a bit too arrogant?"
"Heh, heh, heh!" Zhao Feng just stared at him, cold and silent.
Li Zhi felt a chill under the weight of that gaze. He had a sinking feeling that if it weren't for Li Dan, Zhao Feng would truly kill him. Li Zhi took a deep breath and looked toward another young man, seemingly seeking his counsel.
This was a fair-skinned young man with a sinister glint in his eyes. Zhao Feng glanced at him and immediately understood who he was: Li Shu, the son of the head of the Li family.
Zhao Feng looked coldly at Li Shu. "So, you are the one who has been forcing Li Dan time and again?"
"Heh, heh, heh!" Li Shu did not get angry; instead, he laughed. He stood up, his eyes flickering with calculation. He cupped his hands. "Brother Zhao Feng, right?"
Zhao Feng frowned, unsure of the man's intent.
Li Shu chuckled, "Brother Zhao Feng, the fact that you dared to strike so fiercely even after learning about the Return Dragon Gate shows that you do not fear us. Am I right?"
Zhao Feng said nothing, crossing his arms and watching Li Shu with an amused expression.
