Wang Lu’s eyes welled with tears as she nodded repeatedly.

"Hmm?" Zhao Feng raised an eyebrow. "I asked you if it is!"

"Yes, yes! The Li family is a hidden clan!" Wang Lu hurriedly replied.

Zhao Feng nodded with satisfaction. His right hand gripped Wang Lu’s porcelain-white neck, while his left hand wandered restlessly over her body. This caused Wang Lu’s entire frame to tense up; every time Zhao Feng touched a new spot, she would tremble involuntarily. With tears streaming down her face, she looked at him imploringly. "Please, let me go!"

"Hahaha!" Zhao Feng let out a cold, sharp laugh. "Now, tell me, why was there a bounty on me?"

Wang Lu shook her head. "I didn't place the bounty! I don't have that kind of money!"

"Then who did?" Zhao Feng demanded.

"It was the ninjas from the Clear Spring Sect!"

"The Clear Spring Sect?!"

"Yes!"

Zhao Feng frowned. "Why would they put a bounty on me? I haven't revealed anything."

Wang Lu shook her head again. "That, I don't know."

Zhao Feng stared at her for a while. His deep, piercing eyes seemed capable of seeing through any disguise. Wang Lu felt as though she were completely naked before him—though, in reality, she was. Yet, this was a psychological sensation. Zhao Feng slowly released his right hand, and Wang Lu collapsed onto the ground.

Looking down at her, Zhao Feng said, "Now, I am going to cast a technique on you."

Wang Lu blinked. "What technique?"

"The Soul-Control Art!"

As soon as he finished speaking, with a sharp *clink*, Zhao Feng produced one of his Eighteen Life-Taking Needles. He stepped toward Wang Lu and plunged it directly into her chest.

"Hnnng..." Wang Lu let out an involuntary groan. She was helpless; firstly, she knew no martial arts, and secondly, even if she did, she was no match for this towering man.

Without hesitation, Zhao Feng pinched another of the Eighteen Life-Taking Needles. *Shing!* He drove it into her left breast.

"Ugh..." Wang Lu felt a wave of pain, yet she could do nothing.

*Swish! Swish!* Zhao Feng struck repeatedly, using six of the needles in quick succession. After finishing, beads of sweat began to glimmer on his forehead. He wiped them away and exhaled slowly.

"Using the Soul-Control Art on Liu Dahu last time was incredibly difficult. I didn't expect it to be just as taxing on Wang Lu." Zhao Feng looked at the completely exposed woman and said coldly, "Lie down."

"Okay, okay!" Wang Lu obediently lay back.

Zhao Feng approached her, extended his hands, and slowly channeled his spiritual energy. He placed his palms over her heart. Instantly, the silver needles began to vibrate as if activated. *Hummm!* Green energy flowed along the needles and into her body, ultimately forming a green, demonic-faced tattoo over her heart.

Having finished, Zhao Feng let out a sigh of relief. *Swish, swish!* In a flash, he retrieved the needles, carefully tucked them into his pouch, and stowed them away inside his garment. At that moment, he felt an invisible thread tethering him to Wang Lu. With just a single thought, he could make her life a living hell or end it instantly.

He looked at her. "Put your clothes on and leave."

Wang Lu blinked. "I can go?"

"What else? Do you want to spend the night here?"

"No, no!" Wang Lu shook her head frantically. At this moment, she could think of nothing more than escaping this devil. She scrambled to her feet, but after searching the area, she couldn't find a single piece of clothing. With a mournful expression, she looked at Zhao Feng. "Excuse me, there are no clothes here..."

Zhao Feng rolled his eyes internally. He took off his coat and tossed it to her.

"Thank you!" she said, catching it.

Zhao Feng said nothing and turned to leave. He still needed to check on Li Ting. He formed a seal with his hands, and a green shuttle flew out. It circled him once before settling beneath his feet, gently lifting him into the air. He soared away into the distance.

At the edge of the forest lay a white sandy beach, where a brutal battle was currently unfolding. Li Ting clutched a dagger, her chest heaving. She was surrounded by countless ninjas—at least a hundred of them. Her forehead was slick with sweat, and her hair clung to her skin. She wiped away the perspiration and leaped into the air.

*Boom!* She delivered a series of mid-air kicks and continued her flight. Suddenly, however, a brilliant flash of steel cut through the dark night like lightning, illuminating the sky. The blade swung down toward her with lethal force.

"Ah!" Li Ting cried out, crashing to the ground. A scarlet gash appeared on her fair arm. Clutching the wound, she struggled to her feet, fighting like a cornered beast.

The black-clad ninjas slowly closed in. Li Ting’s expression was icy as she backed away. Suddenly, a ninja sprang up, raising his katana high to bring it down upon her. Li Ting desperately raised her dagger to parry. *Clang!* The blades collided with a sharp ring.

Before she could recover, another ninja threw several shuriken. *Swish, swish, swish!* Li Ting managed to dodge most of them, but one struck her calf. "Ah!" she screamed, dropping to one knee. She had expended her last ounce of strength.

The Japanese ninjas began to laugh. "Genius of the Li family, today is the day you die!"

"Hahaha! The martial arts clans of the Dragon Kingdom are all divided and self-serving; they are nothing like us!"

"Indeed! This world will belong to our nation sooner or later!"

"Exactly!"

The ninjas cackled, closing the circle around her. Li Ting gritted her teeth. *Is this really where I die?*

The lead ninja stepped directly in front of her. He raised his katana, aiming it at her throat. Though he wore a mask, his twisted, cruel smile was evident as he slowly, deliberately, lifted his blade.

*Shhh!*

A faint sound echoed. The gathered ninjas froze, touching their faces in confusion to find drops of blood. They looked toward their leader—and saw that the head of the man holding the katana had vanished. Blood sprayed from his severed neck like a fountain.

"Ah!" The group shrieked.

"What happened?"

"Who is it?"

"Who killed Master Fa?!"

Panic erupted among the ninjas. But the slaughter continued. *Shhh!* Another head vanished, leaving only a spurting neck. *Shhh! Shhh! Shhh!* One by one, the ninjas fell, their heads severed, their bodies standing still for a moment before collapsing as blood geysered into the air.
