Chapter 75: Nine Tails
Qin Ming had broken through, yet not entirely. At the first level of Martial Star, as the body’s attributes are elevated, one uses primal energy to open the dantian, forming a miniature star within. From then on, one can escape the bonds of gravity and soar freely through the skies.
This transformation encompasses two aspects: the enhancement of physical strength and the opening of the dantian, wherein a micro-star forms. In the instant this micro-star takes shape, genetic primal energy feeds back into the body, awakening certain special abilities.
These two aspects are tightly interwoven.
The Xuan Dao technique that Qin Ming cultivated was, in another world, a pure method of physical refinement; its third level corresponded to the realm of the primordial spirit—in this world, the planetary level.
He had reached the third level, but had not opened his dantian, nor formed a micro-star.
“In that case, I am still a quasi-super being? Only my physical strength has increased dramatically? Or perhaps, is it my bloodline that has advanced?”
Qin Ming pondered.
This world, too, valued bloodlines.
Those terrifying star beasts drew their power from their lineage. Among peers, their strength often exceeded others by multiples—sometimes tens or even hundreds of times. The future Golden-horned Beast was among them.
With a powerful bloodline, breakthroughs naturally became more arduous.
“Has the Xuan Dao technique altered my bloodline?”
Qin Ming entertained the notion.
“My current strength has at least doubled!”
With this thought, he instructed Xiao Qiang to open the hatch, then strode out.
Stepping into the void, he was instantly a kilometer away.
At full speed, he left streaks of afterimages in the air; within moments, he covered ten kilometers and then returned. This round-trip of twenty kilometers took merely half a minute.
Such speed was astonishing beyond measure.
“I lost the field—how could I not reclaim it?” Qin Ming returned to his fighter. “Xiao Qiang, head back to the site of the previous battle!”
“Yes, Master!”
Without a hint of movement, the fighter tore through the sky and stopped after a brief moment. The hatch opened, and Qin Ming stepped out.
Here, only ten kilometers remained to the original valley.
“Hover a thousand meters above my head!”
He gave the order, clasped his hands behind his back, and stepped into the void.
The wind swept across the vast sky, clouds drifted serenely.
Ahead, the Vajra Blast Ape sat atop a mountain peak.
Upon seeing him approach, it abruptly stood, raised its arms toward the east, beat its chest with thunderous sounds, and howled skyward.
In the east, the sun had just crested the sea’s horizon. Golden rays spilled across the land, bathing the Vajra Blast Ape in a radiant glow, amplifying its imposing presence.
Towering over forty meters, its massive frame radiated intimidation.
“This time, I will kill you!”
With these words, Qin Ming advanced at the same speed as in the last battle.
Clang!
His battle blade had already landed in his hand.
In the blink of an eye, he was upon his foe.
A distant cry echoed from above, resonating for hundreds of miles.
Without looking, Qin Ming knew it was the Golden-winged Eagle. With its formidable physique, even if not fully recovered, it should be close.
Another cry rang out. Simultaneously, his wrist device relayed, “Master, the fighter is under attack by a king-level Golden-winged Eagle and a king-level Black Vulture. Please advise!”
“Ascend to space. If they pursue, destroy them!”
Qin Ming issued the command.
Two king-level fierce birds? Seeking to destroy the fighter, cut off his retreat? A clever ploy!
Unfortunately, the man he was now was not the man he had been!
“Die!”
Ignoring the threat above, Qin Ming let out a long howl and instantly faced the Vajra Blast Ape head-on, slashing down with his blade.
The ape bared its teeth, its body swelling, unleashing even more violent energy, its aura heightened.
Clenching its fist, it struck.
Dense genetic primal energy enveloped its fist.
With its understanding of Qin Ming, it unleashed its full strength, unafraid.
It had confidence that with this punch, it would send the puny opponent flying.
Thud...
The battle blade landed on its fist.
Qin Ming’s previous strength allowed him to achieve an attack force of one million kilograms. Now, his power had at least doubled!
With two million kilograms of force and a tenfold amplification, his blade unleashed a terrifying twenty million kilograms of explosive power.
With a soft sound, the blade cleaved the ape’s fist in two.
Clearly, the Vajra Blast Ape was stunned.
The next moment, Qin Ming’s speed erupted fully; he spun, the blade following his movement, and in a hundredth of a second, the edge swept across the ape’s neck.
Without so much as a glance, he landed at the foot of the mountain.
To his left, the Pangolin King was already approaching.
To his right, another king-level beast—a spotted leopard over ten meters long, evidently newly arrived, much like the Black Vulture.
Seeing Qin Ming so decisively slay the Vajra Blast Ape, both king beasts hesitated, not daring to approach.
Thunder boomed!
Behind him, the Vajra Blast Ape finally fell, crashing from the peak with an explosive sound.
Whoosh!
The Pangolin King fled headlong into the rock, burrowing swiftly downward.
It was adept at tunneling—especially as a king-level beast, even stone posed no obstacle.
In a blink, it vanished, and Qin Ming sensed it had already burrowed a hundred meters below. Its speed made his lips twitch.
“Consider yourself lucky to escape!”
Qin Ming turned to the spotted leopard.
The leopard was slowly retreating, its mouth split in what seemed a placating smile.
“Heh, you come and go as you please?”
Qin Ming sneered.
He stepped forward and instantly appeared above the leopard, slashing down.
Whoosh!
The leopard was quick, its form flickered, producing three afterimages, causing Qin Ming’s blade to miss.
“A special ability?”
Qin Ming was surprised, but immediately gave chase.
He unleashed speed far beyond the swift leopard.
He slashed again; the leopard again split into three afterimages.
“The same old trick? Useless!”
With a twist of the blade, the corpse was severed in two.
Looking up, the Golden-winged Eagle and Black Vulture had descended, but were clearly hesitant.
These two king-level birds had evidently failed to catch the Qian Kun-class fighter. If they had, that would be a miracle!
“Now for you two!”
Qin Ming stepped into the void, his body rising sharply.
The two beasts quivered, turned, and fled—one south, one north.
“If I can’t kill both, I can certainly kill one!”
His gaze shifted to the Golden-winged Eagle, and as he prepared to pursue, his body froze.
He sensed a terrifying aura locking onto him at that moment.
He turned to look behind.
On a peak thousands of meters away stood a white fox over ten meters tall.
Just a fox.
It should have been adorable, but its colossal size and nine tails—each a hundred meters long—danced in the air.
The long tails swept the sky.
Even at such distance, the overwhelming aura made Qin Ming feel suffocated.
“An emperor-level beast!”
He instantly recognized its rank.
Emperor-level meant at least planetary level three, possibly as high as level five or six.
Among humans, only Hong and Thor were qualified opponents.
This was the true terror of fierce beasts.
In a blink, the white fox was suddenly a hundred meters away.
Such speed astounded Qin Ming.
Before he could turn to flee, a white tail smashed through the void and descended.
“Too fast!”
“No escape!”
“All this for slaying a few king-level beasts? Is it necessary for someone like you to intervene?”
“Damn the sun!”
Qin Ming gnashed his teeth and, without hesitation, poured all his power into a blade attack of twenty million kilograms.
Bang...
The white tail struck, shattering his SSS-class battle blade in two. He was sent flying; the force transmitted through his body, his bones cracking audibly, narrowly avoiding fractures.
“That strike packs at least thirty million kilograms of force!”
Qin Ming’s heart trembled. He turned to flee.
Smack...
Another tail from the nine-tailed fox smashed through the void and descended.
“Again? Damn it, are you a descendant of Daji, bent on annihilation?”
Qin Ming spun, pounding his fists, unleashing nine blows—enough to collapse a mountain, yet unable to withstand a tail strike.
He was sent flying once more, his arms trembling, pain radiating.
“Bone fractures!”
He sensed it at once.
Boom...
This time, two tails.
Qin Ming was filled with dread, but his face twisted in ferocity as he roared, “You want to kill me? Heh, Xiao Qiang, let’s—!”
“Stop!”
Before he could finish, a thunderous shout echoed across the sky.
A mighty figure appeared before him.
It was Thor!
“Kid, have you had enough?”
He turned, a playful look in his eyes.
