Chapter Seventy-Four: The Third Level of the Profound Dao Technique—Break
Inside the fighter jet, Thor sat loosely, watching as two more annihilation shells were launched. He couldn't help but exclaim, "That's ruthless!"
"Though he may destroy the Bloodvine, I'm afraid he'll suffer internal injuries. The real test comes next!" Hong's voice sounded from the screen. "Prepare yourself. If he can't escape, step in immediately. A talent like this dying here is far too regrettable!"
"If he survives, perhaps he will catch up to us someday," Thor nodded.
In the valley, the moment Qin Ming slew the Bloodvine, the previously distant Explosive Ape, Golden-winged Eagle, and Pangolin King suddenly surged forward.
The Pangolin King and Explosive Ape flanked him from left and right, while the Golden-winged Eagle dove from above.
Qin Ming stepped on air, his eyes narrowing to slits.
Danger pressed close, yet he grew calm.
"This is the moment!"
In another tenth of a second, the attacks of all three beasts would converge. Qin Ming pressed his lips together, the power beneath his feet suddenly surging as he seemed to pierce through space, bursting straight into the arms of the Explosive Ape. His blade drove toward the beast’s heart.
The ape reacted swiftly, its dark hand instantly blocking its chest.
With a wet sound, the Bloodshadow Warblade sliced through black fur, drove into the palm, penetrated it, but was stopped by the skin on the chest.
The ape’s other hand, as massive as a millstone, swung down at Qin Ming.
Above, the Golden-winged Eagle halted abruptly, stopping its charge. Any further, and it would collide with the Explosive Ape.
"Now!"
Qin Ming's legs suddenly swelled, strength magnified tenfold. He stomped fiercely, compressing the air into deadly projectiles that shot into the ape. In that instant, he blinked out of sight.
The Explosive Ape’s hand struck only air, its body staggering backward, blood streaming from its other hand.
In that moment, Qin Ming’s speed exceeded twice the speed of sound.
He flashed to the massive head of the Golden-winged Eagle, the Bloodshadow Warblade raised high, swinging down at its neck.
His target was the eagle. Without killing it, escape was impossible.
The eagle cried out in terror, threw back its neck, dodging the killing blow. Yet its breast was exposed to the blade.
With a sickening sound, flesh and blood rolled, feathers scattered, and blood splattered the sky.
Qin Ming did not relent. Twisting his body, blade thrust forward, he kicked the root of the eagle’s wing just as it tried to flee.
A loud crash resounded in the heights; bones snapped, and the Golden-winged Eagle tumbled downward, twisting as it fell.
Its screams echoed as blood and feathers rained down.
"Not good!"
To strike the enemy required a pause; in that fleeting instant, the Pangolin King arrived, its enormous claw slamming into Qin Ming’s back. The dreadful force sent him flying.
He tumbled through the air, crashing to the ground.
Even with the weakening effect of the Black God Battle Suit and his indestructible flesh, his vision darkened for a moment.
After all, he had just taken a heavy blow.
"Damn!"
He had barely steadied himself when a giant foot descended from above.
The Explosive Ape’s foot.
Its palm had been pierced, now it was utterly enraged, intent on crushing Qin Ming into pulp with a single stomp.
"If it lands on me..."
Fear chilled Qin Ming; he kicked off fiercely, his body shooting away at an angle.
The foot crashed down, shaking the earth and mountains, fissures splitting the ground for hundreds of meters.
Qin Ming barely escaped death. Just as he was about to catch his breath, an enormous hand descended.
With a smack, he was sent flying, rolling across the ground, shattering several boulders dozens of meters high, smashing through trees thousands of meters away before finally halting.
Qin Ming spat a mouthful of blood.
"Little Qiang!"
Seeing the pursuing Explosive Ape and Pangolin King, Qin Ming shouted urgently.
Bullets poured down in torrents, causing the beasts to hesitate only briefly before disregarding the bullets and pressing their attack.
That instant gave Qin Ming time.
He sprang up, evading the ape’s hand, landing on the open hatch of the fighter jet. As it closed, the Pangolin King’s attack struck, hurling the jet a hundred meters away.
Without delay, the jet roared off.
The two king-level beasts stopped.
They knew they could no longer catch up.
The Explosive Ape roared, pounding its chest in fury. Its gaping maw revealed protruding fangs that glinted coldly in the sunlight.
The Pangolin King ground its teeth ceaselessly.
In the distance, the Golden-winged Eagle lay prone, glaring at the departing world-class fighter jet, its eyes icy cold.
Amid the clouds, inside the jet—
"This kid, he’s truly decisive in peril!" Thor exclaimed. "He exploited his speed to the fullest, judged the situation with precision. First, he entered the ape’s embrace, making the eagle pause for a crucial instant. In that moment, Qin Ming escaped before the ape could fully retaliate. Because he was so close, the eagle couldn't dodge in time and suffered heavy injury. Unfortunately, attacking always requires a pause, and in that pause he took a heavy blow. But clearly, he anticipated this, allowing the jet to rescue him in time!"
"Courage, temperament, strength, luck—he has them all!" Hong's voice came through. "I’m certain he’ll return. He won’t rest until he’s destroyed the remaining three!"
Thor nodded. "He’s young; having suffered such a loss, how can he not repay it? But when he returns, it will be even more dangerous!"
"Yes! These king-level beasts will learn their lesson. Next time, they’ll destroy his jet first, then surround and kill him," Hong said. "Keep a close watch; don’t let anything slip!"
"Rest assured, I’ve got this!"
Far away, the world-class fighter jet sped over a thousand kilometers before stopping, hidden among the clouds, drifting gently.
"Without the Black God Battle Suit, I’d be dead!"
Qin Ming sat on the sofa, spat out a mouthful of bloody foam, and carefully examined his wounds.
Four ribs broken, organs cracked, heart and lungs shaken—his injuries were serious.
He took out the last two vials of Life Water and drank one without hesitation.
"Still not enough!"
He drank the other.
Life Water was a healing miracle, capable even of regenerating severed limbs. Yet now, with Qin Ming’s body at quasi-supergod level, one vial was insufficient to restore his wounds.
Two were just right.
"Four billion for a single healing!"
The costly treatment didn’t concern Qin Ming.
His account was nearing a trillion.
In fact, with these injuries, he could self-heal in ten days or so, but he couldn’t wait.
After calling home to report his safety, he closed his eyes in contemplation.
"To turn the tables? That’s difficult!"
"They already know my strength."
"Goal accomplished—should I leave?"
"Leave? Am I willing?"
He opened his eyes, raising his head. Qin Ming’s gaze seemed to pierce the cabin, reaching the heavens, fixing on a satellite orbiting Earth Star.
"The third layer of Xuan Dao Technique has stalled for so long. Instead of hesitating, why not seize this chance to try?"
Within his mind space, many plant spirits resided, including eight willow hearts—seven of a thousand years, one of ten thousand.
The ten-thousand-year willow heart was the most potent of all plant spirits.
There, he had also purchased an SS-grade carving blade. With care, he opened the shell of the willow heart, transferred the liquid inside directly into his mouth, and swallowed.
Boom!
In the next moment, a torrent erupted within, like an avalanche, surging and sweeping through every part of his body, permeating his cells.
This was evolution from the genetic level.
Qin Ming hurriedly activated the third layer of Xuan Dao Technique, striving repeatedly.
"Not enough!"
After more than half an hour, sensing the effects weaken, he furrowed his brow, transferring spirit liquid from his mind space, swallowing it.
The technique operated, his body constantly undergoing violent transformation.
Once, twice, three times—
Boom!
On the ninth attempt, an explosive sound echoed from his soul, shattering the mysterious gate, causing Qin Ming’s body to undergo a fundamental metamorphosis from the most primitive genetic imprint—a true ascension of life.
