Chapter 127: Qin Ming Takes Action (Second Update)
The Luo family residence.
“Second brother, Mom, what happened to you all?”
Returning home, Luo Feng found the atmosphere heavy with sorrow. His younger brother, Luo Hua, looked pale, and their mother’s hair had turned significantly whiter.
Though his return was met with joy and excitement, it couldn’t hide the exhaustion etched on their faces.
Seeing this pained Luo Feng deeply.
“And Father?” Luo Feng pressed, a dark premonition tightening his voice.
“Brother, sit down first and listen!” Luo Hua took a deep breath before explaining.
During the year Luo Feng had been missing, their family had suffered relentless blows from all sides.
“First came the gossip and whispers among neighbors, then things escalated to physical harassment. I knew someone was targeting us. You once told us you had a grudge against Li Yao, the War God of the Li family. I immediately suspected them, but we were no match!” Luo Hua said. “You told us to seek help from Councilor Qin if anything happened. I went to find him, but he wasn’t home. When Father found out, he warned the neighbors, even threatening that anyone who harmed our family would be crossing him—and by extension, Councilor Qin.”
“After that, no one bothered us for a while.”
“But then, whenever we went out, there were veiled accusations and inexplicable difficulties.”
“Mom was pushed into the water while buying groceries, and Father was accidentally hit by a drunken man who broke his leg!” Luo Hua said slowly.
“What? Mom was pushed into the water? Dad’s leg broken by a drunk?” Luo Feng exploded with rage.
“Yes,” Luo Hua gave a bitter smile. “Councilor Qin ordered a thorough investigation when he heard, and some of the thugs were caught or even killed. But no evidence pointed directly to Li Yao. He assigned several elite warriors to protect us closely, even a War God shadowing us secretly. But despite this, whenever we step outside, there’s still pointing fingers and mocking words. What can we do? We can’t just silence everyone. Now, we hardly dare to leave the house.”
“Damn it!” Luo Feng could no longer contain his fury. In a flash, he flew out. “Stay home—I’m going to kill Li Yao!”
His anger was uncontrollable.
He could only imagine the torment his family had endured over the past year.
If not for help from classmates, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
He didn’t dare think any further.
His hatred for Li Yao had never been stronger.
-----
Jiangnan Base City, the Li family residence.
“What? Luo Feng isn’t dead? He came out of the ruins?” Li Yao staggered back as if struck, nearly stunned.
“How could he not be dead? After all that time inside, how is he still alive?” Li Yao trembled, his face twisted. “If only I had killed his parents first!”
“It’s not that you didn’t try, but you failed,” said Vinina. “At first, there was a chance, but then Councilor Qin intervened. Who dared act then? Death was certain. So we resorted to endless verbal attacks and psychological warfare, spending billions just to hire a few desperate thugs.”
“Damn that Councilor Qin! Damn Luo Feng!” Li Yao cursed.
Suddenly, outside, a fighter jet appeared. Luo Feng burst in, shattering the window and storming into the villa.
“Luo Feng, you dare!” Li Yao screamed. “You dare act within the city? You’re dead for sure! Absolutely dead!”
His eyes gleamed red as he laughed hysterically. “Your mother wasn’t drowned, your father wasn’t crushed—but the first time will be followed by a second. Luo Feng, I’ll make sure you become an orphan. No matter how strong you are, it won’t matter. There are plenty of desperate men in this world.”
“Li Yao, you... you...” Vinina’s face paled.
Living closely with her husband, she could tell his intentions clearly.
He was determined to go down together with Luo Feng.
To provoke the enemy was to invite a deadly strike.
A martial artist killing someone within the city, especially invading their home to kill—that was a capital offense.
If he managed to kill Li Yao, it might be excusable, but if not, it would be mutual destruction.
Li Yao gave a twisted smile, half mocking, half despairing, then his expression turned mad.
“You’re looking for death!”
Luo Feng’s fury erupted. His Sky Escape Shuttle shot forward, blasting Li Yao through the wall and throwing him outside.
Li Yao was horrified, disbelief etched on his face. He realized he was no match. Trying to rise and resist was futile—even his Black God Battle Armor offered no protection.
But the commotion was loud.
“I want you dead!” Luo Feng roared, seizing Li Yao. His shuttle was now at its peak power, ready to strike.
His murderous intent boiled over.
After being trapped in the ruins for so long, suppressed and agonized, hearing that his parents had almost died unleashed a torrent of rage.
“Luo Feng, stop!” Vinina screamed, pulling out a remote control. “I’ve planted something devastating beneath this neighborhood and street. If you dare harm Li Yao, I’ll take them all with me!”
“How dare you!” Luo Feng’s expression darkened.
“Our only son is dead!” Vinina’s face twisted with hatred. “But you, the killer of my son, have become an Overseer—a high-level War God spiritual telepath, an invincible War God. When we sought revenge against your parents, I had a bad feeling and secretly planted those devices as a precaution. You weren’t dead after all... and here we are. Luo Feng, if you kill Li Yao, I’ll make sure this neighborhood is reduced to ashes.”
“You’re ruthless!” Luo Feng seethed with rage but dared not act.
His reason quelled his bloodlust.
“Planting destructive devices inside the city, Vinina, Scorpion, threatening to detonate them—who gave you the courage?” A voice suddenly rang out as Qin Ming descended gracefully.
He had seen Luo Feng’s return and his rapid departure in the fighter jet, so he anticipated what was unfolding.
With no pressing matters, he came to see for himself.
Seeing Vinina about to trigger the explosives, Qin Ming’s temper flared.
Peace had been so hard-won, yet this Scorpion dared to plant such devices.
A crime deserving of death.
“This matter will be thoroughly investigated by the council. Where did you get the bombs? Who handled them? Who conspired in secret? None will be spared. Anyone involved will face a grim fate,” Qin Ming said coldly.
“N-no, no, it was all my doing!” Vinina’s face drained. She wasn’t afraid of Qin Ming but utterly terrified.
One word from him could wipe out her ancient family’s vast influence in moments.
This was the terrifying power of the world’s top figure.
Moreover, she knew Qin Ming was closely allied with Hong and Thor.
Together, these three could suppress every council member on the planet.
Who would dare defy them?
No one.
“Whether it was just you or others, we’ll find out,” Qin Ming said flatly. “And I already ordered that no one is to trouble Luo Feng’s family. Yet you spent vast sums hiring reckless thugs to attack them? Such audacity. Put down the remote!”
“Councilor Qin, please, spare us!” Vinina begged, clutching the remote tighter. “I’m willing to donate all our assets, and Li Yao and I will retire in seclusion. Please, Councilor Qin!”
“You’re threatening me!” Qin Ming’s voice grew colder.
“No, I’m begging for mercy!” Vinina said. “If you don’t agree, we’re doomed. Since death is certain, what is there to fear?”
The venom in her eyes vanished.
“As expected of the high-level War God known as Scorpion. Too bad you encountered me!” Qin Ming’s words cut off as he moved faster than she could react, severing her arm and snatching the remote.
“Arrest them!” Qin Ming ordered. The elite warriors from the Limit Martial Hall, Thunder Martial Hall, and others surged forward.
He approached Luo Feng with a smile. “With Li Yao’s methods, who knows how many dirty deeds he’s done over the years. He won’t stand up to investigation. Hand him over and prosecute publicly. He won’t escape the death sentence.”
“Good!” Luo Feng nodded without hesitation, grateful. “Thank you, Qin Ming. Without you, I dare not imagine what would have happened. Even now, I still feel uneasy.”
“It’s nothing, just a word,” Qin Ming said with a smile. “But I never imagined some would be so reckless after I issued the warning. After this, rules need to be established on this matter.”
“I second that!” Luo Feng agreed wholeheartedly.
The two chatted and laughed as if ignoring the world.
At that moment, an elderly figure approached.
“Councilor Qin, Overseer Luo!” The elder smiled warmly.
“Councilor Jia!” Qin Ming greeted. “Is there evidence?”
This was Councilor Jia Yi, one of the few councilors in Huaguo and a respected elder. After the Great Nirvana, he led efforts that saved countless innocent lives on this land.
He also spearheaded the establishment of Huaxia Base City.
“We’re compiling it,” Jia Yi said. “Should I give it to you or proceed with prosecution directly?”
“Give it to Luo Feng,” Qin Ming decided.
“Very well.”
“Also, thoroughly investigate any unwarranted harassment of martial artists’ families, especially those of fallen warriors.”
“Rest assured!”
After promising this, Jia Yi quickly departed to make arrangements.
“Thank you again!” Luo Feng expressed his gratitude.
“No need for thanks—we’re classmates after all.”
“Having a classmate like you is my life’s honor!”
“Haha, I’ll remember that. If I ever need help, you can’t refuse.”
“If I refuse, am I even human?” Luo Feng said solemnly. “Qin Ming, though I don’t expect you to call on me, if by chance you do, I’ll face fire and steel without hesitation.”
