Chapter 124: Taking the Battle Worldwide (Third Update)
Smack...!
With a single slap, Qin Ming reduced it to a cloud of blood mist. He glanced below, then turned and left.
Standing at the southernmost tip of Antarctica, he could see that only three directions remained.
As far as the eye could reach, there was nothing but endless snow and ice.
Qin Ming sat down and raised his head. The aurora shimmered overhead, dreamlike and unreal.
He reached out and grabbed a creature flying past. After skinning and deboning it, he rubbed his hands together. Genetic energy ground against itself, and flames shot skyward, blazing into a roaring fire.
Thus began the first barbecue.
With the aurora overhead, an iceberg beneath his feet, and roasted meat in his mouth, the experience had a flavor all its own.
Beep, beep, beep!
His wristwatch rang. When he answered, Thor's voice came through.
“Kid, where are you?”
“Antarctica!”
“Antarctica?”
“Yeah. I was bored, so I decided to wander through the mountains and rivers. Somehow, I ended up here. Want to come over? I'm roasting meat.”
“Barbecuing in Antarctica? You really know how to enjoy yourself. Wait a moment. I'll be there!”
“Sure!”
Not long afterward, a fighter jet came roaring over and stopped above him. Thor leaped down.
“The scenery here really is something. Snow-white mountains and rivers, the aurora surrounding us, and snow swirling through the air...” Thor clicked his tongue in admiration. He had not merely come down himself; he had also brought a grill and several dozen bottles of fine liquor.
“You really treat this place like the wilderness.” Qin Ming could not help laughing. “I'm afraid the grill won't work. It's nearly a hundred degrees below zero here. Forget fire—even electricity won't function properly.”
“Don't we still have genetic energy? We just need to keep the freezing air outside.”
“Second Brother, you really know how to indulge yourself.”
“Now that the threats are gone, of course we should enjoy life a little!” Thor began setting everything up.
Genetic energy spread around them, shutting out the bitterly cold wind as they held a barbecue unlike any other.
One sip of liquor, one bite of meat—what a pleasure!
More than a thousand pounds of meat disappeared into the stomachs of the two men.
Thor tossed his wineglass into the air. It exploded, scattering into powder. He raised an eyebrow.
“Fight?”
“Fight!”
Qin Ming shot into the sky and arrived above Antarctica, floating amid the aurora. Its radiant light made him look like an immortal descending into the mortal world.
“Hahaha, good!” Thor roared with laughter, his voice carrying across the entire Antarctic continent.
The two exchanged blows in an instant.
High in the sky, the sound of collisions rang out without pause. They met force with force again and again, and the shock waves of their power caused icebergs to collapse.
“I've already reached the seventh planetary rank, yet in a contest of pure strength, you actually suppressed me. My speed is unrivaled, but your instantaneous bursts are in no way inferior to mine. Third Brother, you're incredible!” Thor shouted. “Next, let me show you the domain of thunder and lightning I've comprehended!”
“Second Brother, you have a domain. Do you think I don't?” Qin Ming laughed loudly. “Come on, come on! Let's have a truly satisfying battle today!”
“Good!”
Thunder and lightning immediately erupted around Thor, forming a vast electrical space that sought to enclose Qin Ming.
The lightning was savage and violent. Within his domain, Thor's strength and combat power increased tremendously.
Qin Ming did not hesitate. His own domain appeared, and space twisted around him.
Although his understanding of the Dao of Domains had not yet entered the second stage, he had already mastered it with exceptional skill, and his methods were unpredictable.
Their domains collided, each displaying its own strengths.
Within the aurora, lightning flashed and thunder boomed, only to be twisted aside and redirected.
In the blink of an eye, the two collided eight hundred and ten times.
They were moving far too quickly. Even the satellites struggled to capture their movements.
At the headquarters of the Extreme Martial Arts Hall, Hong sipped his tea while staring at the three-dimensional projection. He could not help shaking his head.
“If I hadn't noticed in advance and blocked the satellite signals, who knows how many people would have been shocked.”
“But that boy Qin Ming has made tremendous progress in his use of domains. Even I would have no confidence in defeating him.”
“Thor only comprehended his domain recently. He still lacks a little refinement.”
“He's about to lose.”
Hong set down his teacup. On the screen, Thor could be seen falling from the sky.
Above Antarctica.
“Hahaha! Third Brother, you're incredible. Your Second Brother admits defeat!” Thor steadied himself and could not help laughing. “That was satisfying—truly satisfying! I haven't enjoyed a battle like that in a long time. Third Brother, I feel as if I'm about to break through. I'll enter seclusion for a while!”
“Congratulations, Second Brother. I'll protect you while you cultivate.” Qin Ming smiled.
“Good!”
Thor flew into the fighter jet and sat down cross-legged inside.
His aura began to grow stronger.
Half a day later, it suddenly surged by a tremendous amount.
“Seventh planetary rank!” Thor emerged from the fighter jet, unable to conceal his delight. “Third Brother, you really are my lucky star. The last time you fought an emperor-level beast, I was rushing to get there and unexpectedly comprehended the Dao of Domains. This time, battling you allowed me to break through my bottleneck and rise to an entirely new level. I've decided that from now on, we'll have a great battle every ten days or half a month!”
He meant what he said. In the days that followed, he fought Qin Ming almost once every month.
Their battles left traces on rivers, beneath the oceans, in deserts, across forests and wildernesses—in nearly every corner of the globe.
Above the Arctic, Thor was blasted from the sky.
“This battle is over!” Once he had steadied himself, Thor hurriedly waved his hand. This was yet another contest between them, several months after the last.
“After breaking through in Antarctica, I could still fight you to a draw. But over these past few months, you've broken through again and again. You're now at the seventh planetary rank, having caught up with Big Brother, and you've completely suppressed me. I can't even fight back. You really are a little monster.”
He was genuinely convinced.
Over the past few months, he had witnessed Qin Ming's miraculous progress. Qin Ming improved practically every day, advancing an entire level once every couple of months.
“Second Brother, your progress hasn't been small either. You're at the peak of the eighth planetary rank now, aren't you?” Qin Ming asked with a smile as he landed on an iceberg.
“Indeed!” Thor was beaming. “I've discovered that evenly matched life-and-death battles are much better at stimulating one's potential, allowing for rapid improvement. Why don't I bring Big Brother over? The three of us can have a group battle. Whoever is strongest can fight the other two while they join forces against him. What do you think?”
Qin Ming's eyes lit up.
“That sounds perfect!”
“I'll call Big Brother right now!”
Thor was just about to make the call when his wristwatch rang first. He slapped his forehead and smiled bitterly.
“How could I forget? Big Brother is a complete voyeur. He must have been watching our battle through the satellites the entire time. And since he can read lips, he definitely heard everything I just said.”
He answered the call, and sure enough, Hong's voice came through.
“You two wait for me.”
Thor shrugged.
“Cutting-edge satellite technology combined with Big Brother's old trade of lip-reading...” Qin Ming clicked his tongue. “We'll have to be careful from now on whenever we say anything bad about him in the outside world!”
Then a thought struck him. He grinned mischievously.
“Do you think Big Brother secretly watches other people's field battles?”
“An ordinary battle wouldn't be worthy of Big Brother's attention.”
“Uh, Second Brother, you've misunderstood. That's not what I meant.”
“Isn't a field battle just a major battle in the wilderness? What did I misunderstand?”
Thor looked utterly puzzled.
Qin Ming scratched his head and chuckled to himself.
Thor remained confused. He opened his wristwatch, connected to the network, and entered the term to look it up. When he saw one of its definitions, the corner of his mouth twitched.
“Young as you are, your mind is already full of dirty tricks!”
“I thought you would understand immediately, old man!”
“Understand my foot! Ever since the Great Nirvana began, we've been fleeing and fighting for our lives. After the Great Nirvana, we've done nothing but cultivate and grow stronger. When would we have had time for entertainment? All those things from the past were forgotten long ago. But now that peace has arrived, I suppose all sorts of messy things really will start appearing again!”
“I doubt anyone would dare do that in the wilderness. After all, there are ant beasts, mosquito beasts, rat beasts, and the like. If one of them came along at the wrong moment, that would certainly make things interesting!”
“You little rascal... You look like such an honest child, so how did your thoughts end up going in that direction?” Thor was both amused and exasperated. “Still, if something like that really happened and a rat beast came along, the scene would certainly be magnificent.”
As the two chatted and laughed, Hong arrived in a fighter jet.
The three men sat on an iceberg and talked for a long while.
“Come to think of it, today should be the day the Elite Training Camp heads to Australia for its life-and-death adventure, shouldn't it?” Thor asked Hong. “Have you found any promising seedlings?”
“During the speech I gave early this morning, I noticed one. His name is Luo Feng, and he possesses immense spiritual power!” Hong smiled. “He hid it very well, but I exposed him with a single remark. He's still young, yet he's already learned how to conceal himself. He's lost some of his sharpness.”
“That boy killed Li Yao's son and has been hiding ever since. Big Brother, you exposed him in front of everyone. He'll really have trouble now!” Qin Ming laughed. “He's probably anxious at this very moment.”
“If he chose to hide, then he must have been facing trouble. I've already issued orders forbidding anyone from targeting a warrior's family—especially his family—so that he can have no worries holding him back,” Hong said. “As for Li Yao... heh, he should make a fairly good whetstone. I hope he gives me a pleasant surprise.”
“He definitely will. I have a feeling that boy's achievements in the future will be no less than ours.”
As he spoke, Qin Ming looked toward Australia, tens of millions of miles away.
Hong and Thor were both surprised.
This was the first time they had ever heard Qin Ming give such high praise to anyone.
Luo Feng?
They committed the name to memory.
