Chapter 107: Global Uprising (Eight More Chapters)
Satellite positioning, point-clearance.
King-level ferocious beasts. Not to mention one that could escape; most of them had perished at the hands of the three.
Within a single day, at least over ninety-five percent of the King-level and above ferocious beasts on land had been swept away.
As evening approached, the three returned to the Extreme Martial Academy headquarters.
“Circling the globe once or twice, though there were no major setbacks, it still left me drained!” Lei Shen opened the wine cabinet, took out a bottle of red wine, poured it onto the sofa, then slouched down, uncorked it, and chugged it all in one go. He burped loudly, exhaling a gust of wine fumes and shouting, “That’s refreshing!”
He clasped his palms together, lightning crackling across his hands as he obliterated the empty bottle into powder. With a casual flick of his wrist, the dust scattered out the window.
“Still no sense of propriety!” Hong shook his head.
“Once I’m home, of course I act however I want!”
“This is my home!”
“What’s the difference between your home and mine?”
“Fine, you’ve rendered me speechless!” Hong said helplessly, then grew serious. “When a ferocious beast reaches commander-level, its intelligence is no weaker than a human’s—let alone king-level beasts. Some can even speak human words. While we’re sweeping the globe, it may look like a lightning strike on a den, but the king-level sea beasts will inevitably learn of it. From there, they’ll almost certainly unleash a beast tide!”
“We’ve threatened their core, so they’re bound to surge. But what level will it be?” Qin Ming asked. “What’s our mission? Point-clearance of king-level beasts, or something else?”
“Hunt down king-level beasts and lure out the imperial-level ones!” Hong’s eyes flashed with ruthless intent. “If a beast tide truly erupts, the three of us will still act. I and my second brother will go all out to rapidly slay the king-level beasts. As for you, third brother, you hold one sector in reserve and only show the level of someone who can barely kill king-level foes. Then, when those two imperial-level ones come at you, you can face them and fight back in retaliation. Are you willing?”
“Haha, imperial-level? I’ll give it a try and see if I can take one down!” Qin Ming declared boldly.
“Done! That’s the plan!” Hong smiled. “Come on, let’s eat something good first!”
They three devoured over a thousand catties of food that night, nearly exhausting the chef.
“Third brother, how was it?” Lei Shen asked with a grin.
“Delicious. This is the best food I’ve ever had!” Qin Ming patted his stomach contentedly.
“Of course. The world’s finest delicacies are all here with big brother. What else do you think I do when I’m not out there?”
“Then I’ll be staying here from now on!”
“Good! I can finally be a bit more upright about it!”
“You two…”
Hong shook his head and chuckled.
The night was deep, stars sparse.
Alas…!
Hong sighed deeply. “We’ve cleared all the land-based king-level beasts with perfect stealth, and the remnants lack any real scale, so they’re no longer a threat. But the sea beasts… when they erupt, how many humans will die?”
“We have no choice but to endure it once.” Lei Shen said. “If we manage to take out two beast emperors this time, even losing half our strength would be worth it.”
Qin Ming’s heart trembled, his expression turning grave. “Then we’ll try to kill as many as possible and prevent king-level beasts from reaching land.”
“With just the three of us, we can’t stop them. The range is too vast, and our hunting capacity is limited.” Lei Shen continued, his expression turning strange. “Even if every parliamentarian joins in, it won’t help. There are too many sea beasts, and no one knows how many king-level ones exist. Aside from us three, none of the other parliamentarians have a chance of taking down a single one alone.”
“What useless trash!” Qin Ming frowned.
“Those in high positions are naturally cautious, lacking battle experience. How could they compare to the king-level beasts born purely of slaughter in the ocean?” Lei Shen sneered coldly, then turned to Hong. “Big brother, we’ll issue the death order together. Anyone who retreats will be killed!”
“Kill!” Hong spat out the word.
Qin Ming returned to the Moonlight District to hold the line here.
In recent days, even ordinary citizens had felt the tense atmosphere, with patrols everywhere on the streets to prevent unrest in case of emergencies.
Three days later, around eight in the evening.
The air raid alarm suddenly blared.
This was Level 1 War State.
Drip, drip, drip!
Qin Ming’s wristwatch immediately rang. When he answered, Hong’s voice came through: “Third brother, the sea beasts have launched a beast tide across the globe. Hold the East Sea Base, stay inside without coming out, and first eliminate the commander-level ones while preserving your strength. I and Lei Shen will use a patrol tactic. Remember, if any imperial-level beasts appear, hold them off until we arrive. One of us will be close by, rushing over at maximum speed to support.”
“You be careful too!”
Qin Ming replied.
He emerged from the underground bunker. In the living room, Luo Xia and Lu Lu were watching television, both distracted.
“Brother, why are we on vacation? Why was Dad transferred to guard the outpost outside the base city?” Lu Lu asked anxiously. “What about the earlier alarm?”
“Little Ming, this time…” Luo Xia knew more and wore a face full of worry.
“Lu Lu, don’t worry. We’re here, nothing will happen!” Qin Ming smiled reassuringly. “Mom, Dad is only stationed at the outpost area, which is basically safe. As for me, you don’t need to worry at all. Stay home calmly, don’t go anywhere, and wait for Dad and me to return!”
“Don’t worry about the family!” Luo Xia’s eyes reddened; she sensed the gravity of the situation. “You must be extremely careful, extremely careful. Mom can’t help you. In matters of great principle, I can’t intervene, only you can handle it yourself.”
“I’ll be back soon!” Qin Ming turned and left, boarded the fighter jet, and roared away.
Luo Xia looked utterly lost, collapsing onto the sofa and pulling Lu Lu into her arms: “This time, I don’t know if we’ll make it through. The moment Dad was suddenly transferred, I felt something was wrong. Your brother is a parliamentarian and the Sixth Patrol Envoy of the Extreme Martial Academy, yet he was transferred out too. All the martial artists in the district except the disabled were pulled away. I knew it, I knew it—something catastrophic had happened.”
“Mom, Dad and Brother will definitely be fine!” Lu Lu panicked but tried to comfort her. “Did you forget? Brother is the youngest parliamentarian, and he’s Hong and Lei Shen’s brother. Nothing will happen to him!”
“Yes, definitely nothing will happen!”
Mother and daughter clung together, offering mutual comfort and prayers.
East Sea Base, fighter jets hovering.
Qin Ming landed.
“Minister Qin, you’re needed again!” Li Dawei approached, his weathered face already set with grim resolve. “This time, can we win?”
“Behind us lies the great rivers and mountains of our motherland. We cannot afford to lose—we will win!” Qin Ming’s voice rang out, resolute and unyielding. “This battle is ours!”
“Good!” Li Dawei was greatly encouraged.
“Commander-level and above are yours, the rest will be up to you!”
“Rest assured! This time, reinforcements from War Gods and War Generals will be numerous, and ammunition is plentiful. If we can’t hold, I’ll present my head!” Li Dawei’s voice carried iron-blooded resolve, then he hesitated. “There’s only you at the minister level—I’m worried…!”
Qin Ming waved him off. “I’ll be up front. Commander-level sea beasts may slip through, but for king-level beasts, I will never allow even one to step ashore!”
There were over fifty parliamentarians in total, which seemed like a lot, but with coverage spread across the globe, it was severely stretched.
This defense base had only him.
The Moonlight District was quiet, yet the sea suddenly surged.
A vast black mass of sea beasts had already appeared on the horizon, surging in endless waves without end.
On the satellite monitoring screens, every entry point around the globe was densely packed.
“I’m going!”
With that, Qin Ming stepped into the air and advanced.
“Stay safe!”
Li Dawei clenched his fists tightly. He knew this battle was critical—if they fell, the entire world was in peril.
“Not dead, not retreating!”
He muttered the words, straightened his spine, and prepared to command the fight.
