Chapter 105: Sudden Upheaval (Sixth Update, Subscription Requested)
“Yes, Master. Thankfully, this is an iceberg, easy to probe. Even so, it was only just now that I sensed it; if it were underground, it would be impossible to detect!”
“Thor, it’s up to you!”
“Understood!”
Thor responded and cleaved open the icy mountain with a single stroke.
The peak collapsed, snow and ice splattering everywhere.
Afraid of damaging the source of the cold ice, Thor did not unleash his full strength. The blade barely reached into the mountain’s heart.
“I’ll take it from here!” Hong motioned for Thor to step back, then unleashed his domain.
His talent was light, and so was his domain; rays twisted, making him appear like a living black hole. Sensing the surroundings with his domain, he struck precisely, and at last found what they sought.
The upper half of the iceberg had vanished entirely, leaving only a frozen throne. Deep within lay a patch of blue ice, hard as alloy.
Within the blue ice, a crystalline azure liquid flowed, sparkling brilliantly.
“The Source of Cold Ice, formed from condensed cosmic energy fused with the essence of frost, is an exceptional cosmic spirit. After consumption, it enhances the body’s constitution and evolves one’s core.” The intelligent warship’s voice sounded again. “According to calculations, the king-level beast here rose to its current strength by absorbing the seeping power of the Source of Cold Ice.”
“How do we consume it?”
“Simply drink it.”
“Good!” Hong was decisive. After extracting the source, he wrapped it in genetic energy and apportioned a fist-sized portion of blue liquid to each of them.
“Let us take it now and strengthen ourselves. If we advance further, our chances of victory will increase!” Hong spoke, then swallowed it in one gulp and flew to his warship to refine it.
Qin Ming and Thor followed suit, unhesitating.
Inside his warship, after Qin Ming drank it, a tremor ran through him.
Cool to the core, his spirit soared.
The icy energy slid down his throat, making him feel as though he were frozen solid; he hurriedly activated his cultivation and began refining it at speed.
Half an hour later—
Boom!
His aura surged, swelling dramatically.
“What potent effects! I’ve stepped directly into Planetary Level Five!”
Qin Ming’s eyes shone in amazement.
Though he had already been at the peak of Planetary Level Four, this breakthrough far surpassed his expectations.
“The spirit born of this world targets physical genes, and its effects far exceed those of mid-grade spirit liquid. Pity it’s so scarce!”
Qin Ming pondered quietly.
Moments later, Hong and Thor activated their three-dimensional projections.
“My cultivation is Planetary Level Seven. Though I didn’t break through, I’ve reached the peak. Give me some time to consolidate, and I’m confident I’ll advance further!” Thor’s eyes gleamed with excitement. “Big Brother, Third Brother, what about you?”
“I’m like you, just reached the peak of Planetary Level Six!” Hong smiled. “Third Brother, I expect you broke through?”
“I did—Planetary Level Five!” Qin Ming replied joyfully. “Big Brother, I should be able to challenge you now. Second Brother, well, I doubt you’re my match anymore!”
“You little freak! Shall we spar?” Thor’s eyes flashed with lightning, eager for battle. “I haven’t had a real fight in ages—just hope you don’t end up in tears!”
“Enough, let’s focus!” Hong quickly intervened.
Thor shrugged helplessly.
Qin Ming laughed. “Second Brother, once we clear all obstacles, let’s battle to our heart’s content!”
“Haha, excellent!” Thor bellowed. “Never thought you’d be a battle maniac too, Third Brother!”
As they spoke, their warship thundered away.
Crossing oceans, spanning mountains, they arrived at the Sahara—the largest desert in the world.
Since the Great Nirvana, this place too had changed dramatically.
The heat was astonishing.
At the core, daytime temperatures exceeded two hundred degrees. Not only humans, but even ordinary beasts dared not enter, much less venture into the peril-ridden heart.
“From extreme cold to extreme heat—what a journey!” Thor exclaimed. “Third Brother, the Scorpion Emperor knows Big Brother and me; best that you take the lead this time. Find it, trap it with your domain, and we’ll rush in. Ideally, you’ll slay it with a single stroke!”
“The Scorpion Emperor’s shell is exceptionally tough, rivaling SSS-grade alloy—very hard to kill!” Hong mused. “Even its eyes are covered. To slay it, best to use shock force to shatter its brain directly. That means getting close, but its attack power is terrifying, especially its tail stinger. If it pierces your Black God battle suit and injects its venom, you might not die but you’d be crippled. So, Third Brother, trap it first with your domain—don’t take risks!”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be careful!”
Qin Ming opened the hatch and leapt out.
Instantly, the heat wave struck. Though immune to extremes, he couldn’t help but twist his body.
Walking on air, he sped forward, suppressing his aura as much as possible.
On the warship, Thor and Hong kept their network open.
“Do you think our Third will go straight for the kill?” Thor asked.
“He will,” Hong replied. “He’s young and proud. Since growing up, he’s only truly lost once—in Australia—and then he hadn’t reached planetary level. Now he’s at Level Five. Let’s be ready to rush in when he acts.”
“Agreed.”
Qin Ming, of course, was unaware of their conversation.
The sun sank in the west, but the heat still rolled.
“A solitary plume rises in the desert, the long river catches the setting sun.” Qin Ming admired the vast, somber beauty unique to the desert, hands clasped behind his back.
Scorpions, chameleons, desert spiders and other beasts burst from beneath the sand, flashing claws and fangs, hunting the intruder who had disturbed them.
Qin Ming did not bother to fight; he simply released his genetic energy, and with a gentle sweep, they dissolved into blood mist.
The farther he went, the fiercer the beasts became.
At last, a commander-level scorpion covered in pitch-black fur leapt out, its twenty-meter tail stinger stabbing down from overhead.
Scorpions are ferocious by nature; those in the desert are most savage.
Snap!
Qin Ming drew his blade and slew it in a single stroke.
Against the crimson sunset, he stood solitary and carefree.
Ahead, all was suddenly silent.
Qin Ming raised his brows and continued forward.
A low hill appeared before him, half-buried in sand, resembling a crouching serpent. As he prepared to land upon it, the sand beneath exploded.
Like a missile blast, sand within three hundred meters shot skyward. From it emerged a scorpion seventy to eighty meters long, its black fur strands each a foot or more in length.
Its mandibles were sinister; its foreclaws shattered the air, attacking left and right, while its tail stinger stabbed at the crown of his head.
A perfect ambush.
This was clearly the Scorpion Emperor.
“I’ve been waiting for you!”
Qin Ming stepped, executing his air-step technique to its limit, dodging in an instant and arriving atop the emperor’s head.
Slash!
His blade split the air, giving the Scorpion Emperor no time to evade, and struck its hard shell.
His physical power, combined with the twenty-four layered inch-punch technique, amplified his flesh strength twenty-five times—an all-out eruption.
The inch-punch had never ceased to improve.
Slash!
The Scorpion Emperor’s skull cracked open, exposing its brain.
Sizzle!
Its ferocious vitality kept it alive; it shrieked and tried to burrow down.
At that moment, sand on both sides erupted as well, and two desert spiders, each a hundred meters tall, burst out, spewing webs to ensnare Qin Ming.
“Where did those come from? Not good!”
Qin Ming was alarmed.
Both spiders’ presence rivaled the Scorpion Emperor.
As the webs descended, his eyes flashed and he sensed the falling sand overhead. His body vanished, reappearing by the emperor’s side, avoiding the webs.
Spider silk was tough and sticky—once caught, it would be trouble.
With the emperor falling, a gap opened below.
As Qin Ming unleashed his power, Hong and Thor sensed it and rushed over, just in time to see the sand cascade down. Their expressions changed.
“How are there two pseudo-emperor auras? Third Brother’s in danger—go!” Hong plunged into the sand without hesitation.
“What’s happening?” Thor followed, anxiety etched on his face.
