Chapter 165: Which Kind Is That?
Seeing her little face full of grievance, Shen Hanzhi couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, a playful glint appearing on his handsome features as he deliberately curled his lips and asked, “Weren’t you wanting to watch the drama for adults?”
Hadn’t she just insisted on watching the adult drama?
Although he wasn’t one to follow entertainment, he had seen reports about the show on the news. It had been the highest-rated drama a few years ago and had even won the award for the most beloved drama among middle-aged and elderly viewers. It was undoubtedly the favorite show of adults.
Hearing this, Lin Nanxun’s displeasure deepened, and she muttered softly, “Not that kind…”
“Then what kind?” he asked slowly, feigning casual interest.
“I want to watch… an idol drama,” Lin Nanxun said after some thought.
It was Ye Ning who had told her that idol dramas nowadays were quite enjoyable.
Upon hearing this, Shen Hanzhi pursed his thin lips in a good-natured manner and agreed. “Alright.”
Seeing his consent, a joyful expression briefly lit up Lin Nanxun’s face, but before two seconds passed, the man’s deep and serious voice calmly sounded, “If you eat five pieces of meat at lunch, then you can watch.”
Having said this, he lowered his gaze back to her.
Compared to the gaunt, severely malnourished look she had earlier, her appearance now was considerably more normal, though still somewhat slender.
Yet, the cheeks on both sides had clearly filled out.
This was proof that his daily insistence on her eating meat for balanced nutrition was working.
At the mention of eating meat, the joyful look on Lin Nanxun’s face immediately shifted into one of hesitation.
Though she now found meat less repugnant than before, five pieces was simply too much.
“I won’t watch then,” she quickly shook her head in refusal.
Seeing her meek surrender, a satisfied smile crept onto Shen Hanzhi’s face.
She had run off in the middle of the night yesterday; Ye Ning would surely be worried.
“I’m going to find Ye Ning,” Lin Nanxun said, rising from the sofa.
Seeing her about to leave, Shen Hanzhi frowned slightly but did not stop her.
He had a busy day ahead, and if she stayed with him, it would be dull and tedious. Being with Luo En and the others would obviously make her much happier.
Last night, for the first time, he had seen that carefree, joyful smile on her face…
Lin Nanxun reached the door and, upon opening it, saw Zhou Bei just about to knock.
Seeing her come out still in pajamas, Zhou Bei was momentarily taken aback, instinctively assuming Miss Lin had just woken and come upstairs looking for the boss.
“Miss Lin, you’re up so early?”
“Good morning,” Lin Nanxun smiled politely and greeted him before heading toward the elevator.
Seeing her warm smile so early, Zhou Bei couldn’t help but smile in return, then proceeded into the room.
When Zhou Bei entered, Shen Hanzhi was reclining on the sofa, having just turned off the television with the remote.
Noticing Zhou Bei, he slowly set the remote down and glanced at him before asking, “Did you give her the room card?”
The man’s low voice made Zhou Bei hesitate for a moment, a flicker of confusion crossing his honest face.
Having worked alongside Shen Hanzhi for many years, he still couldn’t tell if the tone of that question carried reproach.
