The assistants and staff who had arrived with Shen Hanzhi also retreated. Once all the strangers had left, Zhou Bei, who remained behind, turned to explain to Lin Nanxun.

"Miss Lin, this resort belongs to our boss. These people are all his subordinates, much like myself, so there is no need for you to be afraid."

Hearing Zhou Bei’s explanation, Lin Nanxun immediately felt that the strangers from before didn't seem so frightening after all. She nodded gently, finally relaxing, and walked over to the window to look outside.

They were on the top floor of the hotel. It was high enough to take in the scenery of the entire resort.

Seeing that she seemed curious about the resort, Zhou Bei walked over and kindly explained, "Miss Lin, there are various entertainment facilities in the recreational area. Everything you would find in an amusement park is here, and it is far more extensive than what you would find elsewhere."

The resort was divided into two sections: entertainment and leisure. The hotel sat in the leisure zone, while the other side housed the entertainment zone, though it had not yet opened and was currently not in operation.

Hearing this, Lin Nanxun’s face lit up with curiosity as she continued to gaze out the window.

"By the way, the haunted house here is said to be the largest and most exciting one in the country. Would you like to go take a look later, Miss Lin?" Zhou Bei added, having suddenly remembered it.

As soon as she heard the words "haunted house," the relaxed expression on Lin Nanxun’s small face vanished instantly, and she shook her head vigorously.

"I’m not going. I’m not going anywhere."

She did not want to go to a haunted house.

Hearing Shen Hanzhi’s voice, Lin Nanxun hurried over to him and sat down obediently on the sofa beside him. Only then did the expression on her face slowly return to normal.

Seeing her sit down, Shen Hanzhi checked the time, turned his gaze toward her, and said with calm composure, "I have to meet with some people at the resort this afternoon. Will you come with me, or would you rather stay here?"

If she didn't join him, she would have to remain in the hotel.

The look of absolute trust on her face caused Shen Hanzhi’s eyes to flicker with surprise.

A moment later, he pressed his thin lips together and said in a low voice, reminding her, "It will be very dull and boring."

His working hours were almost always long and tedious; she might not enjoy it. In truth, before she arrived, his life had been exceptionally dull as well. Yet, since she had come, it seemed that something was quietly beginning to change.
