Chapter 85: Lu Beiqin, I Feel Unwell
Shen Chutang suddenly looked up, meeting the man’s malicious gaze in the rearview mirror. “You’re not planning to take me somewhere deserted and do something bad to me, are you?”
Caught off guard by the girl’s clear eyes, the driver flinched and guiltily averted his gaze. “You’re quite the joker, miss.”
Shen Chutang curled her red lips into a smile, reached to her waist, and slowly unzipped her acupuncture kit, drawing out a slender silver needle to toy with between her fingers.
At last, the car stopped in a place cut off from any village or sign of civilization.
She glanced out the window. “Is this the destination you mentioned?”
The driver turned around, his eyes glinting with greed as he rubbed his hands together, his expression lecherous. “Don’t worry. I don’t just bring anyone here. I promise you, this will be an experience you’ll never forget!”
As he spoke, he lunged at her.
She raised her foot and kicked him back effortlessly, her tone lazy, “With just you?”
He hadn’t expected the slip of a girl to react so quickly, nor to possess such strength!
Thinking fast, he pressed a button on the dashboard. In the next second, white smoke hissed out from beneath the back seat.
Shen Chutang immediately covered her nose and mouth, anxiety flashing through her mind.
The driver, mask in place, locked all the doors and windows, watching her with smug satisfaction. “You seemed obedient just now, so I didn’t use this trick on you. If you’d just behaved, I wouldn’t have had to bother.”
With that, he took out his phone and sent a voice message. “Got something fresh at the usual spot.”
She hadn’t expected he had accomplices.
Shen Chutang hurried to open the car door, but the locks refused to budge.
She’d underestimated him.
The gas swiftly took hold, a strange sensation igniting through her body, as if she were burning alive. Realizing she’d been drugged, she reached for the antidote at her waist. From childhood, her master had insisted she always carry protective medicines with her, so she kept a stash in her wallet—including an antidote for stimulants like this.
But before her hand could reach her waist, the man in the car, affected by the drug as well, lunged at her uncontrollably!
He crashed into her, about to bite down.
Without hesitation, Shen Chutang stabbed the silver needle into his acupoint. The driver slumped, instantly unconscious.
With great effort, she struggled up, unlocked the window, and pushed open the car door. She’d barely taken a few steps when her legs gave out, and she collapsed to the ground.
“Well, look at this, today’s catch is a real beauty.”
“Don’t any of you try to snatch her, I’m first!”
“You were first last time. This time we record everything—didn’t you hear Lao Si? Everyone gets in line and films it!”
Shen Chutang forced her head up, seeing a car pull up beside her. Three men got out, each wearing the same predatory look—the driver’s accomplices, clearly.
She tried to get up, but the drug made her head spin, her vision doubled, and her limbs lost all strength. She couldn’t even stand.
She reached again for her waist, only for one of the men to grab her arm and drag her aside.
“Don’t be scared, we’re just going to have a little fun and take some photos.”
His smile was sickening. In desperation, Shen Chutang bit her own tongue, the pain dragging her mind back from the haze. She slapped away the hand resting on her shoulder. “Get away from me!”
“Oho, this one’s got some spirit. I like her!”
The man began to strip, preparing to pounce on her.
Suddenly, a tall figure appeared, grabbing the man by the throat and lifting him effortlessly before throwing him harshly to the ground.
“Who the hell are you to ruin my fun?!”
“Get him!”
Two men charged at the newcomer, only to be swiftly knocked to the ground, rendered helpless.
Lu Beiqin looked down at Shen Chutang, who lay crumpled on the ground, and quickly helped her up. “Shen Chutang, are you alright?”
Hearing his familiar voice, a faint sense of relief washed over her. Unable to control herself, she burrowed into his arms. “Lu Beiqin, I feel awful.”
Her voice was thick and sticky, breath uneven, skin flushed with fever—clear signs she’d ingested something she shouldn’t have.
