Chapter 73: I Order You to Get Out of My Sight Immediately
The principal patiently explained, “Dear parents, I have already told you: Teacher Shen was recruited with a high salary due to her talent. She is certainly not what you claim—a high school dropout. Furthermore, our affiliated school would never allow such a thing to happen.”
“That’s not necessarily true. I heard that Shen Chutang has an affair with the young master of the Shi family. Could it be that she got this job through connections?”
The principal finally lost his temper. “Madam Qian, you can eat whatever you like, but you must not speak recklessly.”
“What’s the matter, Principal? Are you nervous because I’ve hit the mark?”
Madam Qian continued aggressively. At that moment, Shen Chutang arrived. As soon as she appeared, Madam Qian redirected all her fire toward her.
“So you’re the new teacher, Shen Chutang? I’m the parent of Qian Zihan from Class A. I order you to pack your things and leave at once, or else don’t blame me for reporting you to the Education Bureau for teaching without certification!”
“That’s right! Teachers like you, who fight and associate with troublemakers, will only corrupt our children!”
“If someone like you can be a teacher, I don’t feel comfortable leaving my child at this school. Principal, if you don’t want all our children to withdraw, you’d better fire her immediately!”
“Exactly! Our parent committee has invested plenty of money in this school every year, and this is how you treat us? A teacher forced in through connections will only ruin the school’s reputation!”
The principal was so furious he nearly had a heart attack. “Don’t act on impulse! Teacher Shen was hired through proper procedures. If you want her credentials, I can log into the education database and show you.”
Madam Qian sneered, “AI face-swapping scams are all the rage nowadays. Who can’t photoshop a certificate?”
Someone else chimed in, “Principal, are you really willing to stand against the entire parent committee for this woman? Or have you received some favor yourself?”
The principal was utterly speechless. These parents were nothing but shrews, refusing to listen to reason!
Shen Chutang finally spoke. “Whether I can teach here or not—none of you have the authority to dictate.”
Madam Qian immediately shouted, “See? Listen to the way she talks! How can someone like this teach our children?”
Shen Chutang retorted, “If people like you can be mothers, why can’t I be a teacher?”
Madam Qian’s face turned red with anger, and other parents quickly said, “A teacher should educate and nurture, be cultured and reasonable. Where is your decorum?”
“The principal tries to reason with you, but you act like shrews. Now that I won’t bother with reason either, you start guilt-tripping me?”
Shen Chutang sneered, “You truly are the capital’s most famous double standards.”
Madam Qian, fuming, pulled out her phone. “I’m calling the police to arrest this uncertified, hypocritical teacher!”
Within five minutes of hanging up, someone entered the room.
“We received a report. Shen Chutang is suspected of fraudulent representation, using her teacher’s identity to get in through the back door and misleading students. Please come with us.”
Shen Chutang glanced at the two men behind her. “Remarkable efficiency—a five-minute response. I doubt anyone could walk from the school gate to here that quickly. Were you two lurking here for this little performance?”
The men hadn’t expected their ruse to be exposed and grew agitated, determined to quickly deal with her.
“Stop wasting our time. You forged your credentials and harmed so many seniors—your crimes are grave. Don’t resist; come with us quietly.”
Madam Qian watched with satisfaction, thinking that if Shen Chutang left in a police car, it would be quite the spectacle. With such a stain, no school would ever employ her again.
The principal hurriedly said, “This must be a mistake! Teacher Shen joined through proper channels—she’s a top graduate!”
Madam Qian scoffed, “Come off it! A high school dropout, a top graduate?”
“Exactly! I heard even the Shen family refuses to acknowledge her as their daughter. When their younger daughter returned from abroad, she was surrounded by admirers—that’s someone truly beloved. Now, the younger daughter is in Class A, while the elder, bitter and resentful, used connections to become head teacher of Class Z.”
Madam Qian addressed Ma Jifei, “Hurry up and take her away—she’s leading students astray!”
Ma Jifei stepped forward, but Shen Chutang spoke calmly, “You claim to be police—please prove your identity.”
Madam Qian mocked, “Do you think they’re like you, unable to produce any proof?”
Ma Jifei and his colleague pulled out their credentials. Shen Chutang glanced at them. “Wait a moment.”
The next second, she pulled out her phone and dialed a number. “Director Wang, this is Shen Chutang. There are two agents here trying to arrest me.”
Director Wang felt a chill upon hearing her name. Inviting a deity was easy; sending one away was hard. Who would dare trouble her?
Director Wang chuckled warmly, “Could there be a mistake?”
Shen Chutang recited their badge numbers, instantly revealing they weren’t official officers, but auxiliaries.
“Alright, Miss Shen, please wait for me.”
After the call, Ma Jifei spoke coldly, “Don’t waste our time. Will you come with us willingly, or do I have to force you?”
The crowd watched eagerly, but just then, Ma Jifei and his colleague’s phones rang.
