Just then, Shen Tingting finally came over. “Dad, what are you—”
The sight of her instantly filled Shen Xuejun with anger. “From now on, you should learn more from your sister whenever you have the time. Stop spending all day thinking about pointless things!”
Shen Tingting was utterly bewildered at being scolded out of nowhere.
Why was her father berating her in front of the heir apparent for no reason?
And why was he even telling her to learn from Shen Chutang? It was as if the sun had risen in the west!
After finishing his tirade, Shen Xuejun turned to Shen Chutang with a beaming smile. “Chutang, look how thin you’ve become. I’ll buy you some supplements over the next few days and send them to you. The ginseng I originally bought for your mother, and the donkey-hide gelatin I bought for your sister, will all go to you.”
Seeing how obsequiously Shen Xuejun was behaving, Shen Chutang naturally agreed.
There was no reason to refuse something being given to her for free.
Shen Tingting’s eyes twitched with rage, but for the sake of her plan with Bai Yajing, she endured it. “Sister, let Dad and the heir apparent chat a little longer. Come over here with me—I have something wonderful to give you.”
Shen Tingting had originally been thinking of some way to trick her, but she never expected Shen Chutang to agree so readily.
“Five million, I’m going elsewhere with my sister for a while.”
The man paused slightly. Was “Five Million” what she called him?
Shen Xuejun immediately said, “Don’t be rude!”
The heir apparent replied indifferently, “It’s fine.”
Shen Xuejun could tell that the heir apparent was very pleased with Shen Chutang, and his heart blossomed with delight.
Shen Chutang followed behind Shen Tingting. As they walked, she listened to the woman ahead of her spinning a tale. “The famous wishing fountain is just ahead. You can make a wish by tossing in a coin. I’m sure you’ve never done it before, have you?”
Shen Chutang played along perfectly. “Actually, you’re right. I really haven’t.”

By the time they reached the fountain, Bai Yajing was already waiting there.
Shen Chutang was in no hurry. She slipped a hand to her waist and took out a pinch of medicinal powder, concealing it in her palm.
“Here’s a coin. You go first.”
“Wait.”
At once, Shen Tingting grew nervous. Had she discovered something?
Shen Chutang patted her collar. “There’s something dirty stuck here.”
Shen Tingting loathed being touched by her and immediately knocked her hand away. “Stop wasting time. Hurry up and start!”
Shen Chutang took the coin, while Shen Tingting followed closely behind her.
The next second, Shen Chutang suddenly felt a pair of hands shove violently against her back. She nimbly dodged aside, and Bai Yajing, who had intended to step on the hem of her dress, was pushed straight into the fountain instead!
“Careful!”
Shen Chutang pretended to kindly reach out and take her hand. But just a centimeter before their hands met, she curved her lips at Bai Yajing and, without making a sound, thrust her rear into Shen Tingting, sending her sprawling forward.
With a loud splash, both women fell into the fountain.
The commotion was impossible to miss, and soon it drew everyone’s attention. Bai Yajing struggled to her feet and glared viciously at Shen Tingting, who was floundering in the water.
They had clearly agreed to push Shen Chutang into the fountain together, yet this woman had pushed her in instead!
Shen Chutang stood to one side, putting on an expression of concern. “Sister, are you all right? Didn’t you tell me that Bai Yajing wanted to team up with you to push me into the fountain, and that you planned to turn the tables on her? How did you end up falling in yourself? It must be terribly uncomfortable having all your clothes soaked!”
Putting on the act of a perfect innocent flower? It wasn’t as if she couldn’t do that too.
Sure enough, the moment Shen Chutang finished speaking, Bai Yajing flew into a rage!

So she had sought Shen Tingting’s help, only to discover that she had been set up by the very person she trusted!
Shen Tingting had just struggled to lift her head above the water when Bai Yajing seized her by the hair and forced her face back beneath the surface.
“Mmph! Help!”
No one noticed that, once Shen Tingting’s collar was soaked, yellow liquid began seeping from it. A moment later, an overwhelming stench swept through the air.
Pinned beneath the water, Shen Tingting fought back desperately. The two women grappled and thrashed against each other in the fountain.
The disturbance naturally attracted even more people, and everyone began making their way over.
Following behind the heir apparent, Shen Xuejun also arrived at the fountain. When he saw Shen Tingting fighting in the water, her mask knocked off and her face exposed, he flew into a rage.
“Stop! Shen Tingting, what on earth are you doing?”
Shen Tingting looked aggrieved. “Dad, this woman attacked me for no reason!”
Bai Yajing looked just as disheveled. Her mask had long since vanished, her makeup was smeared, one false eyelash had flown away, and the other dangled precariously from her eye.
“You know exactly what you did! A woman like you deserves to be beaten!”
Shen Tingting no longer bothered to conceal the truth. “She told me she wanted to deal with Shen Chutang. She asked me to lure her to the fountain and push her in while she stripped Shen Chutang’s clothes. But now she’s turning around and blaming me!”
“Bah! You deliberately set me up!”
The two women argued furiously, until at last someone covered their nose and said, “Why does it smell so awful? Don’t tell me someone had an accident?”
The instant those words were spoken, everyone caught the stench.
And the foul odor was coming from Shen Tingting and Bai Yajing themselves!
