Chapter 102: Into Her Mortal Peril!
At this moment, Lu Beiqin sensed something was amiss. Throughout their journey, it seemed as though they were being guided to this very spot.
Shen Chutang frowned, her delicate brow furrowed. Who were these people, capable even of controlling the road, forcing them to move in this direction?
Seeing the cars behind them multiply, Lu Beiqin no longer hesitated. He could not risk Shen Chutang’s safety.
He picked up his phone and dialed a number. “I’m blocked on Jincheng Road. Send someone to clear the way.”
“Yes, sir!”
After hanging up, the cars behind them drew ever closer.
With a loud crash, another vehicle rammed into them, causing Shen Chutang to lurch forward from the force.
A hint of deadly intent flashed through Lu Beiqin’s eyes. This car’s configuration was inadequate, and they were about to be overtaken.
Soon, their car was struck again, nearly spinning out of control. A vehicle had somehow circled ahead and now blocked their path, forcing Lu Beiqin to a halt.
A black sedan parked in front of them, its doors opening. Two men stepped out, each wielding iron rods as thick as a forearm, striding menacingly towards Lu Beiqin’s vehicle.
With a loud bang, one of them swung his rod fiercely at the windshield!
The car was nothing special—no bulletproof glass, just ordinary steel. It wouldn’t withstand many blows.
Lu Beiqin quickly turned to Shen Chutang. “No matter what happens, stay inside!”
Before Shen Chutang could react, Lu Beiqin had already pushed open the door and stepped out.
“Lu Beiqin!”
Seeing him exit the vehicle, the men wasted no words, charging at him with knives and clubs.
Three cars had pursued them, six men in total, each armed.
Lu Beiqin dodged a rod swung at his head, seized the attacker’s arm, and twisted it behind his back, demanding sharply, “Who sent you?”
The trapped man shouted, “Don’t meddle in things that don’t concern you!”
Lu Beiqin frowned. Clearly, their target was Shen Chutang.
No wonder these men had caught up so swiftly after they left the clubhouse—they had been prepared.
“Lu Beiqin, look out!”
Shen Chutang, seeing a machete aimed at Lu Beiqin’s back, shouted anxiously.
Luckily, Lu Beiqin noticed in time, sidestepping the blade and delivering a powerful kick that sent the attacker flying five or six meters.
Suddenly, one of the men yelled, “The woman’s in the car! Grab her!”
Immediately, all of them rushed toward the passenger side.
Lu Beiqin grabbed one assailant and hurled him away, but he was a moment too slow. Four men reached the passenger seat, smashing the window, ready to drag her out.
Lu Beiqin snatched a club from a nearby attacker and hurled it at the group.
Shen Chutang now realized these men were after her.
Taking advantage of the moment when Lu Beiqin blocked their attacks, she opened the car door, pulled a packet of medicinal powder from her small backpack, and flung it at their faces.
They scrambled to avoid it, but two men were caught by the white powder. Instantly, their bodies were seized by an unbearable itch, contorting uncontrollably.
The leader cursed loudly, “What are you doing?!”
“It’s itching—driving me mad!”
The two scratched themselves raw, but the itch persisted. One pressed himself against a nearby tree, twisting and writhing.
The leader, no longer caring about them, brandished his machete and charged at Shen Chutang.
In the next instant, Lu Beiqin pulled the young woman behind him, his arm wrapped protectively around her waist. With one hand, he seized the attacker’s wrist and twisted it viciously. A sickening crack rang out—the man’s wrist was broken.
Seeing this, the remaining three grabbed gasoline cans from the car.
It was clear—they intended to kill Shen Chutang.
