All eyes were fixed on Nie Xiaoxing, curled up in the corner. For a moment, silence engulfed the room. Everyone understood why Sun Teng, the student council president, had singled her out.

Since the outbreak of the apocalypse, it was Sun Teng who enabled these students to survive, turning their school into a stronghold. When disaster struck, Sun Teng awakened to supernatural powers and used them to clear the zombies from the campus, sparing their lives. With water and food from the cafeteria, the few dozen survivors managed to endure until now.

But Nie Xiaoxing was just an ordinary girl, with no experience in survival. Sending her out alone to search for food was little more than a death sentence. It wasn’t so much about finding water and provisions as it was Sun Teng’s way of eliminating those who refused to obey him. Anyone who would not submit was purged.

Before the apocalypse, Sun Teng had pursued Nie Xiaoxing relentlessly. Nie Xiaoxing was the campus belle, admired by many. Yet she devoted herself to her studies and had made it clear she would not date in school, publicly rejecting Sun Teng several times. Now, this was nothing but revenge.

“Raise your hands!” Sun Teng’s voice was icy cold. The surrounding students shuddered and hurriedly raised their hands.

“Ha! Nie Xiaoxing! The vote is unanimous—you must go out to find food!” Sun Teng sneered. “But if you beg me, I might be persuaded to show mercy and send someone else instead. What do you say? Kneel and plead with me. You have only one chance!”

With a triumphant smile, Sun Teng strode over to Nie Xiaoxing. He had long coveted Nie Xiaoxing. As student council president, the best student in school, he felt the campus belle ought to be his woman—a perfect match. Yet Nie Xiaoxing had never given him a chance and had rejected him publicly, which enraged him.

After the apocalypse, Sun Teng’s powers had made him the leader. Half the girls had already thrown themselves at him, seeking favor and safety. These days, he was never short of female company. The apocalypse? For Sun Teng, it was paradise.

But the one he truly wanted to conquer was Nie Xiaoxing. He wanted the girl who once spurned him to now kneel and lick his shoes. So Sun Teng deliberately made her life difficult—reducing her food rations, making her eat less than others.

Each day she received only a single bun. He forced her to do manual labor, watching her grow exhausted and humiliated. Yet Nie Xiaoxing endured, gritting her teeth, growing thinner but never once begging him for mercy.

Today, Sun Teng’s patience had run out. He was laying his cards on the table: beg, or go out to die.

“I’ll go look for food!” Nie Xiaoxing bit her lip, her face filled with stubborn resentment. If not for her concern for her sister, she would have long since refused to endure such humiliation, risking her life to fight the zombies outside. Though dangerous, there was at least a slim chance of survival.

She knew exactly what Sun Teng was after. Some girls had advised her to give in to Sun Teng, saying she’d get more food. But Nie Xiaoxing would rather die than yield. She despised Sun Teng’s hypocritical facade. He relied on his powers to seize control of the cafeteria and stores, forcing other boys to risk their lives gathering supplies outside, while he sat inside, issuing orders and acting as if everything was his benevolence.

If he truly had ability, why not go out and find supplies himself, rather than driving out those he considered surplus? Nie Xiaoxing was familiar with Sun Teng’s character: the student council president was nothing but a despicable coward. Before the food was completely gone, Sun Teng, as a supernatural, would never risk his own life. Even with powers, he remained a shameless coward.

“You’d rather go out and die than beg me?” Sun Teng’s face twisted with rage.

“Going out doesn’t necessarily mean death, but staying here disgusts me,” Nie Xiaoxing replied coldly.

Sun Teng was furious. “Fine, since you’re going to be bitten by zombies anyway, let me enjoy myself first!” He cackled wickedly, lunging at her and tearing at her clothes.

With a ripping sound, he yanked off her sleeve, exposing her smooth, pale shoulder. At this sight, the others quickly turned their heads, none showing any intention of helping.

Nie Xiaoxing clenched her jaw, bracing for the worst. She’d rather smash her head and die than be forced by Sun Teng.

“President! President!” At that moment, a boy ran over. Sun Teng turned and slapped him across the face.

“Can’t you see what’s going on?” Sun Teng snarled. “Trying to ruin my fun?”

He assumed the boy was trying to defend Nie Xiaoxing, playing the hero without considering his own strength. The boy’s cheek swelled instantly, and he held his face, aggrieved. He hadn’t meant to intervene, merely to report, but he got beaten instead.

“President, someone has broken into the school!”

“What? Is it rescue?” Sun Teng’s face flashed with surprise and delight. He had no real idea what was happening outside and had been waiting in the campus to see if rescue would arrive.

“President, you should see for yourself. It doesn’t look like rescue—it’s only a handful of people.”

Sun Teng frowned, casting a reluctant glance at Nie Xiaoxing. He had been about to proceed to the next step.

“Nie Xiaoxing! I’ll be back for you later!” With that, Sun Teng strode toward the warehouse entrance.

Sure enough, he saw the chairs at the school gate had been moved aside. A man entered, accompanied by three women and a large dog.

Sun Teng’s eyes lit up. The three women were all stunning beauties, with alluring figures. He nearly drooled. These past days, he’d had plenty of female students, but none with mature figures like these.

Even more enticing to Sun Teng was the armored vehicle they brought. If he could seize it, he’d have no fear of zombies, and gathering supplies would be easy.

“All the boys, follow me! We’re taking that armored car!” Sun Teng pushed his glasses up, a sinister smile on his face.

His cronies beside him stared, eyes wide.

“President, once we deal with that man, let us have some fun with the women too!”

“Yeah, President, we need women!”

“We’re desperate after these days!”

The male students shouted. Here in the school, Sun Teng ruled like a king, forbidding other boys from touching any girls—he alone enjoyed that privilege. Watching Sun Teng with the girls each day, the boys’ blood boiled, forced to handle matters themselves.

“Fine! After we handle that man, we’ll split the women among us!” Sun Teng nodded after a moment’s thought. He needed these boys for labor and should give them a taste of reward—but he would, of course, take the first pick.

And so, Xue Feng, who had just stepped onto the campus, saw a group of boys charging at him, brandishing steel pipes.
