"My Fiery Girlfriend" is a novel that Xingyuan began to write only after much careful thought. Within its pages, a myriad of emotions from all walks of life are intertwined—there is the genuine warmth and coldness of society, as well as authentic love and friendship. The relationships between people are inherently complex and inexplicable; at times, two people are friends one moment and lovers the next. We cannot see through nor predict these changes, and therein lies the fascination of human connections.

None of the relationships in this story are straightforward or dull. A novel ought to be a form of literature that is worth savoring—rooted in life, yet elevated beyond it. In life, each of us might be Yang Chen, or perhaps Luo Qing; it all depends on how you define yourself.

Some readers may assume that, since the novel is titled "My Fiery Girlfriend," the one who accompanies the protagonist to the very end must certainly be this passionate girlfriend. But that is not necessarily the case. Love possesses the power to change everything. Not only are the characters within the story shaped by these emotions, but so are we as readers. Their moments of decision are also our moments of choice. Until the very end, no one can be certain of the outcome.
