In the Medical Department Director’s office of DreamForge Entertainment Company’s 16th Branch.

Mo Wen, a man of uncertain age, with a fresh body just out of the tank, was experiencing his first time “selling his flesh.”

“I always feel this isn’t quite right. Are you sure not many people will exploit my body?”

Ren Yiyi waved the contract in her hand. “This is the best offer you’re going to get. Sign it or not, it’s your choice. But if you don’t, you won’t have any protection. Then nobody can guarantee what might happen to you.”

“Besides, you don’t really think you can remain pure, do you?”

“During the time you were unconscious, your body has already been put through various tests under my supervision.”

“You couldn’t possibly imagine how beautiful your body truly is.”

Mo Wen was curious. “It’s just a lump of rotten flesh. What’s so attractive about it?”

A flicker of fervor passed through Ren Yiyi’s eyes. “As long as it’s well-nourished, it can proliferate rapidly, with an almost unlimited division limit. It can divide a thousand times without error, has excellent resistance to extreme heat and cold, and after proper induction, it quickly develops adaptive mutations.”

“Unfortunately, some parts are still difficult to clone completely.”

“If possible, I would like to extract some of your brain tissue during its active state… Well, actually, I’ve already done that. But I decided to ask for your permission so you know what I’m doing.”

“This is very important. It could change the world.”

Mo Wen thought for a moment and felt it was acceptable. “As long as it doesn’t harm me, and you ensure it’s for your own research at first, without mass cloning me as raw material, I agree.”

He took the contract from Ren Yiyi and signed his name.

Mo Wen didn’t mind being studied, but he resented being treated like raw material—gene modification drugs, brain surgeries—all seemingly based on extracting essence from his clones and then altering others.

Putting aside the clone issue, there was a strange feeling of becoming a cheap biological progenitor for others. If people were created directly from his blueprint, it would be bizarre—offspring all over the world. Worse, if it led to a fanatical “parent worship” cult of reject fighters, it would be a disaster.

If new mutants were cultivated from him and those artificial beings were used as materials, that would be another matter—more like modern humans replacing Neanderthals, unrelated to him personally.

Ren Yiyi placed the signed contract into a sealed bag and handed it to a nearby delivery drone.

Nowadays, AI can synthesize handwriting and signatures online, but signing by hand still carries some weight. The corporation would witness this contract to ensure no other company misuses Mo Wen’s body.

According to DreamForge Entertainment’s current strategy, they would never let any samples of Mo Wen’s body leak before research results were achieved.

After watching the delivery drone fly away, Ren Yiyi sincerely said to Mo Wen, “Congratulations on becoming a new employee of DreamForge Entertainment, joining the Field Operations Department… Actually, I wanted you to join the Medical Department as a subject of study.”

“But since you’re unwilling, I won’t force you.”

“Still, I’m your recommender. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.”

Mo Wen hesitated, then bluntly asked, “Speaking of which, you seem quite skilled in mental suggestion surgeries, and you implanted that ‘Dream Creator’ into my brain… Was I brainwashed, or is it that when necessary you just give an order and my head explodes?”

Ren Yiyi shook her head. “Your brain structure is different from normal humans; conventional mental suggestions don’t work on you.”

“However, if it’s a brain surgery of a physical nature that could cause serious damage, I can’t guarantee. After all, your brain structure and function are generally similar to ours.”

“Of course, as a competent doctor, I wouldn’t perform surgeries that cause severe trauma.”

“As for the ‘Dream Creator,’ I helped develop it. It’s a psychic-enhancing prosthetic device reserved for high-level officials. Naturally, it doesn’t have a self-destruct function. But forcibly shutting it down might cause that overwhelming psychic power to go out of control, leading to brain death.”

“Besides me and a few others, no one else can maintain it properly, which acts as a control measure. If you don’t like it, then strive to become the world’s best prosthetic doctor.”

“By the way, can you tell me what your psychic ability is? You should have some vague sense of it.”

Mo Wen was uncertain. “Super tough survivor and ‘Acceleration’?”

“I feel like I’m even tougher now. If someone shoots me in the head and my brain matter spills everywhere, maybe I can reassemble myself, grow limbs from my brain, fly, and keep fighting.”

“As for ‘Acceleration’…”

He reached out his hand toward Ren Yiyi. Though he exerted little force and caused no visible indirect effect, it was as if an ordinary person casually extended their hand, but his movement was unusually fast.

Ren Yiyi pushed his hand away, roughly understanding his psychic power. “It truly matches an α+ level talent, defying physical laws and boldly asserting your strength.”

“Time is merely an illusion, entirely based on human perception. Its essence is the observation and summary of particle motion processes, yet you possess this abnormal ‘Acceleration.’”

“It probably has much potential yet to be developed, maybe even unlocking a special technology tree. Don’t waste yourself.”

Mo Wen earnestly replied, “Of course, I would never miss any chance to become stronger.”

Psychic strength in this world is divided into two parts: index and tier.

The index can only conform to the cold laws of physics and offers precognitive abilities at the γ level; it can partially resist rules and display abnormalities at the β level; or it can brazenly confront rules head-on at the α level.

Each level is further divided into stronger (+) and weaker (–) subgrades.

The index is basically fixed unless one undergoes major life-altering events capable of reshaping oneself.

Researchers have made no progress in raising the index, only exploring it indirectly through suggestion and illegal memory reconstruction.

Additionally, with long-term training, psychics can master abilities not stronger than their own index beyond their natural awakening, but current research only allows γ-level abilities to be widespread, β-level to be learned but habitually erased, and α-level remains incomprehensible.

The tier refers to how far a psychic can push their powers: a γ-level psychic at tier 1 might only read traces; at tier 5, they could foresee decades-old past events whose traces have been erased.

However, from tier 4 onward, using psychic powers may cause brain death, bodily collapse, and cognitive disorders, often requiring prosthetics to limit these effects.

At this moment, Mo Wen had leapt into the ranks of the world’s strongest humanoid beings.

If he could fully master his psychic powers and adapt to prosthetics, equipped with everything he needed…

Of course, if he faced a true giant war machine, he would still have to run.

Just like the military prosthetic soldier Mo Wen had just defeated: as long as it retained a humanoid form without special psychic powers, it was a fragile target taken down in a few shots, while the firepower humanoids carry normally cannot break through protective shields.
