The man hadn’t expected Wang Dong to ask in that way, but he immediately realized that his previous words were meant to trick him.
“You’re quite clever, kid. Very well. My surname is Dugu, and my given name is Bo.”
Dugu Bo!
Wang Dong froze on the spot upon hearing this name. He now understood why this man felt so familiar—there was even a statue of him in the Shrek Academy campus tens of thousands of years later.
Legends about Dugu Bo had long circulated within Shrek Academy.
Seeing Wang Dong’s reaction, Dugu Bo must have thought that his own reputation had scared him. “What’s the matter? Afraid now? It’s over for you!”
With that, a dense green poisonous mist gathered in his palm and shot straight toward Wang Dong.
Though Wang Dong still couldn’t fully grasp the situation, he instinctively leapt aside to dodge.
Dugu Bo wasn’t the kind to be so naive and easily trust others—there must have been some misunderstanding.
Wang Dong darted quickly, “Do you even know who provoked the avalanche first?”
Dugu Bo sneered, “So what? Even if you’re a little clever, you can’t be compared to the Fourth Prince.”
It seemed the rumors weren’t entirely reliable.
Without hesitation, Wang Dong observed the terrain and flew toward the Ice and Fire Two Forms Eye.
Dugu Bo’s heart tightened; he hurried after him, afraid Wang Dong would damage those precious medicinal herbs.
Seeing this, Wang Dong knew Dugu Bo couldn’t bear to lose them and smiled faintly.
The Goddess of Light Butterfly rapidly spun its wings, and wherever Wang Dong’s hand passed, a herb was plucked.
“No—”
Dugu Bo looked at Wang Dong and noticed he showed none of the discomfort he had experienced when touching those herbs.
He couldn’t help but wonder—did this kid really have such a robust constitution?
Wang Dong was not picky; he took whatever he saw and placed them all into the butterfly soul pendant Ning Rongrong had given him.
He had correctly guessed that Dugu Bo dared not kill him, out of respect for the prince and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan behind him.
Before long, nearly half of the plants near the Ice and Fire Two Forms Eye were stripped bare.
Wang Dong sensed a change in Dugu Bo’s aura—it was likely he had truly developed murderous intent.
“First soul skill: Wing Guillotine.”
The Goddess of Light Butterfly’s wings instantly transformed into golden blades, slicing through the air. While evading Dugu Bo’s attack, Wang Dong quickly gathered the remaining herbs.
In an instant, the other half of the herbs were also in his possession.
“Ah—stop!”

Dugu Bo roared furiously upon seeing this.
Wang Dong sneered, “What? Just because you discovered these naturally nurtured spiritual herbs earlier, they belong to you now?”
Dugu Bo was at a loss for words, unable to respond.
Wang Dong hovered above the Ice and Fire Two Forms Eye, continuing, “If you have the guts, come and take them.”
He then descended slightly, stopping about a meter above the Eye.
He had already observed that the waters in this Yin-Yang lake were highly corrosive, far beyond what Dugu Bo could withstand.
Dugu Bo slowed his movements, clearly having realized Wang Dong’s intention.
The two stood locked in a stalemate.
Wang Dong glanced sideways at the lake—one side frozen cold, the other boiling—and wondered how best to use it.
At that moment, a clear yet somewhat hoarse voice came from nearby: “Continue.”
A palm-sized azure jade bottle flew toward Wang Dong.
Simultaneously, two figures rapidly launched an attack on Dugu Bo.
Dugu Bo was forced to retreat, while Wang Dong used the jade bottle to absorb all the lake water.
As he absorbed, he couldn’t help but enjoy the pained expression on Dugu Bo’s face.
The small jade bottle held a remarkable capacity; soon, the lake was emptied.
Dugu Bo was thoroughly resigned, focusing all his energy on defending against the two attackers.
Seeing that he had temporarily escaped danger, Wang Dong stayed aside, storing the jade bottle safely and began watching the fight.
Gradually, it became clear that Dugu Bo was no match for the two; their moves were filled with killing intent, and Dugu Bo was constantly dodging.
Wang Dong wondered if the statue of Dugu Bo in Shrek Academy thousands of years later had been misplaced.
Just then, as he was watching the scene, Wang Dong suddenly felt his soul power waning, and the wings behind him grew increasingly translucent.
As he slowly began to descend, thinking about having to walk back later, a golden figure swiftly passed by, scooping him up and flying away so quickly that even the battling Dugu Bo didn’t notice.
Just as Wang Dong tried to look up, his body was enveloped in golden wings.
The golden armor was hard and impenetrable; Wang Dong couldn’t see who was holding him, only faintly sensing it was a woman.
He decided not to dwell on it.
After about the time it takes for incense to burn down, the flight slowed. Wang Dong felt a sharp pain at the back of his neck, and then he passed out.
The person holding him smiled faintly upon seeing his state.

The moon hung high.
Wang Dong was awakened by the chirping of birds outside. He moved slightly and slowly opened his eyes.
What met his gaze was Xue Qinghe sitting by his bedside, staring at him.
“Oh, isn’t this the talented one who left camp without permission?”
Her voice, still hoarse, sounded very familiar. Suddenly, the voice of the woman who had thrown him the bottle during the day and the unmistakable embrace flashed through his mind, prompting him to ask directly:
“Are you a girl?”
Xue Qinghe was startled, uncrossed her legs, and leaned back in the chair. “Are you dreaming? What nonsense are you talking about?”
Wang Dong narrowed his eyes. Xue Qinghe’s reaction was flawless, but the idea was strong in his mind, so he pressed on:
“Did you save me?”
Xue Qinghe shook her head. “No! You suddenly appeared at the camp gate. But…”
She paused, then leaned forward slightly.
“Who exactly are you? Why are there experts coming to save you? And how did you escape safely from that old poison master Dugu Bo?”
She turned the tables!
What should have been a warm scene after the crisis had instead turned into mutual probing between the two.
Xue Qinghe looked at the small figure before her. His composure, insight, and strategy… were not something a six-year-old should possess. At least at her age, she would never have managed to escape unharmed from a Title Douluo, let alone turn the tables and toy with him.
The woman who saved him was exactly what Xue Qinghe suspected—a thought that took root in Wang Dong’s heart as well.
The atmosphere in the room grew somewhat awkward.
At that moment, Ning Rongrong’s voice came from outside.
“Xiao Dong! Are you awake?”
The two simultaneously composed themselves.
