Chapter 11: The Soul-Conducting Cannon

The main hall was now nearly empty. Ning Xi glanced around before taking out a strangely shaped object and placing it into Ning Fengzhi’s hand.
Ning Fengzhi and the others immediately focused their gaze on this peculiar item.
“Xi’er, what is this thing?” Ning Fengzhi asked.
Ning Xi smiled faintly. “This is a soul-guided device that can inflict damage on enemies. You just need to inject soul power to activate it.”
Ning Fengzhi and Sword Bone Douluo’s eyes widened instantly. “An offensive soul-guided device?!!”
They only knew about storage soul-guided devices and never expected there to be such a weapon!
The three of them gasped, staring in amazement at the object in Ning Xi’s hand.
A level-three soul-guided cannon is usually a rather sturdy metal tube about one meter long.
Its outer shell is made from special metal materials, carved with intricate runes designed to guide and stabilize energy flow.
The front end of the barrel features a clear muzzle, while the rear connects to a small energy core device.
“However, mine is only a level-three soul-guided cannon; it can only seriously injure soul masters from the Soul Sovereign to Soul Ancestor level. Beyond that, it’s ineffective.”
“What?! Soul Ancestor?!” The three were stunned — it actually had such power!
“Let’s test its power! Xi’er, try it on me! I’ll only use Soul Ancestor-level strength.”
Sword Douluo smiled confidently. “Haha, let me see what this thing can do.”
Ning Xi looked at Sword Douluo with a slight smile. “Then forgive your disciple for being rude.”
“A soul-guided cannon is used for long-range attacks and can deliver a powerful impact on enemies.”
She spoke as she slowly infused soul power into the cannon’s energy core, feeling the power rapidly concentrate inside the barrel.
As a basic level offensive soul-guided device, a level-three cannon’s power is equivalent to the full-force strike of a Soul King-level soul master.
Though its attack range is limited, its penetration and explosive power make it quite practical in small-scale battles.
With a sudden push of both hands, the cannon emitted a deafening roar. A dazzling blue beam shot from the muzzle, carrying tremendous force straight toward Sword Douluo.
Sword Douluo stood firm, a faint smile on his face.
“Boom—” The blue light collided with a golden energy shield, creating a tremendous explosion. The shockwave spread out, causing the training ground’s surface to tremble slightly.
Ning Xi felt a strong recoil from the cannon but remained steady, unmoved.
Sword Douluo’s golden shield wavered slightly under the impact but did not break. He smiled faintly, retracting the shield. His clothes flapped wildly in the shockwave’s gusts, but he remained unharmed.
Yet, in his eyes flickered a strange gleam.

If he weren’t a titled Douluo, it might have been difficult to withstand the attack.
Excitement, exhilaration, curiosity.
“Not bad! This is a good thing. It’s only level three, so there must be even higher-level soul-guided devices!” Sword Douluo said.
Ning Xi nodded. “Yes, but creating higher-level soul-guided devices requires extraordinary talent. Mine is just a low-level one. If a level-nine device were made, even the titled Douluo would fear it.”
As she spoke, Ning Xi involuntarily recalled events from her previous life, where many things happened, and soul-guided devices were both powerful and terrifying.
Those capable of crafting level-nine devices were super geniuses.
Sigh!
Ning Fengzhi was already deeply shaken. There really were level-nine soul-guided devices, and they could even threaten titled Douluo.
What an overwhelmingly powerful weapon!
Fortunately, this daughter was his own; otherwise…
With this, the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect gained new defensive and offensive capabilities.
They could train a group of people to learn from this eldest daughter. Though Ning Fengzhi didn’t know where Ning Xi had learned this, he trusted his daughter.
There were too many mysteries about her, and after all, she was his own child.
Ning Fengzhi even wondered if she was some illegitimate child he had mistakenly fathered.
But that was impossible!
He quickly shook off the strange thoughts—he must have been led astray by Uncle Gu.
Perhaps Gu Rong sensed his thoughts as well, as he also gave Ning Fengzhi a secretive, suspicious look.
“Fengzhi, are you sure this child isn’t some secret daughter you’ve got somewhere?”
“Bah, what nonsense.” Ning Fengzhi shot him a glare.
“Xi’er, I need your help. I’ll give you a group of people to train, and they must be absolutely loyal to you and the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect,” Ning Fengzhi said suddenly, his tone serious.
“All right, Father.” Ning Xi had already been considering this.
Ning Rongrong arrived late and curiously stared at them. “Dad, what are you all doing?”
She had briefly woken up but wanted to linger in bed, so she missed the good stuff.
“Nothing much, I want you to train with your sister,” Ning Fengzhi said.
“Ah! Training again!”

Hearing the word ‘training,’ Ning Rongrong frowned.
She had no time to play!
No, don’t make me!
“Don’t slack off. You need to work hard to reach level ten quickly. Then you can go with your sister to obtain soul rings. Don’t you want to become a soul master?” Ning Fengzhi said seriously, not joking this time.
Ning Rongrong quietly stuck out her tongue. Hmph, bad, bad dad!
She was just a support soul master; training was naturally slow—no need to rush.
Unlike her sister, who had an aggressive combat soul and would protect her!
But since her sister was already level ten, she had to catch up fast and get to level ten to go collect soul rings together!
Ning Rongrong’s eyes shifted, then obediently replied, “I understand, Daddy!”
Ning Fengzhi smiled faintly, nodding slightly. “That’s more like it.”
“All right, go train with your sister quickly!”
Ning Xi nodded and took Ning Rongrong out, heading in another direction.
They arrived at a clearing filled with flowers and plants, with a few towering ancient trees nearby, surrounded by birdsong and fragrant blossoms.
“Rongrong, we’ll practice distraction control,” Ning Xi said.
“Ah, that’s really tedious and hard, and I’m still little. Can’t we take it slow…” Ning Rongrong pouted pitifully.
“No, this must be practiced from a young age. How about this: you train for five days, then rest for two. If you don’t keep up or slack off, I won’t let you go out to play,” Ning Xi said firmly.
Ning Rongrong considered it. Five days training, two days rest wasn’t bad, and maybe there’d be some other rewards from her sister.
So she nodded in agreement, “Okay!”
“All right, then we start today. I’ll train with you on distraction control. Don’t be afraid of boredom; I’ll be with you.”
Ning Xi smiled gently, sitting cross-legged. Ning Rongrong followed suit.
The three who had been watching exchanged smiles.
“Hmm, since that incident, Rongrong’s temperament has changed a lot. We can rest assured now,” Ning Fengzhi said to Sword Douluo and the others, his eyes filled with restrained joy and admiration.
The other two nodded, agreeing. Rongrong only behaved obediently in front of Ning Xi.
Around others, it was not so certain.
