"Damn, is this for real?"

"Doesn't look fake, and using this for clout... that wouldn't just be courting death, that would be guaranteed suicide."

The popularity of the livestream had risen slightly without him noticing; there were probably dozens of people watching now.

"What can we do to save those people?"

Qian Lin hesitated for a moment before saying, "Yveltal and Xerneas are quite unique. When their lives reach an end, Yveltal absorbs the life force of everything around it and turns into a cocoon to await its next awakening. Xerneas is the opposite; at the end of its life, it spreads its own life force to repair the damage caused by Yveltal, and then it enters a slumber that lasts for about... a thousand years."

"If you can find the place where Xerneas is slumbering and pray with sincere hearts, it should wake up and help restore those soldiers."

Qian Lin paused here, then let out a long sigh. "But honestly, the chances are slim. Once these two deities enter their slumber, they don't wake up under normal circumstances. Unless Xerneas hasn't entered its slumber yet, you might try searching the place where you encountered it before."

Although Qian Lin felt for them, truth be told, the possibility of finding Xerneas was incredibly low. If such a Legendary Pokémon truly didn't want to appear before humans, there was no way to find it. And if Xerneas had entered its slumber, it would be even harder to locate, especially since the technology in this world wasn't as absurdly advanced as that of the Pokémon world.

They could only pin their hopes on that tiny glimmer of possibility.

"I understand, streamer. Thank you. I’m reporting this immediately."

The man, who had already sat up in bed, leaped off and rushed out without even fully dressing, clutching his phone. Those petrified people were all his comrades-in-arms; he wouldn't give up, even if there was only the smallest chance.

He also knew his country wouldn't give up. The statues of those soldiers were being protected in a military hospital, and the state had exhausted nearly all its resources trying to save these brave souls, but... there had been no progress. Compared to the utter hopelessness from before, what the streamer said might be their final hope.

Along the way, he encountered many soldiers with grim expressions, having only recently returned from the battlefield and currently in the middle of rest.

On the other side, seeing that the person had stopped sending messages, Qian Lin offered a heartfelt blessing: "I hope our soldiers can recover."

"I hope our soldiers can recover!"

"I hope our soldiers can recover!"

"I hope our soldiers can recover!"

The chat began to repeat the same phrase. At this point, there was nothing else to do but pray. Qian Lin was just a small-time streamer, and so far, he hadn't even seen a few common Pokémon, let alone Legendary ones. They were still quite close to the foot of the mountain where human activity was evident; as he ventured deeper, the chances of encountering Pokémon would increase.

As he walked deeper into the scenic area, Qian Lin chatted with the viewers. He occasionally answered questions, but mostly he spent time explaining things about Pokémon. The people who loved to chat weren't as aggressive as they were at the beginning; it seemed that, deep down, they were starting to believe his words.

There was one small detail: the chat had started referring to those little creatures as "Pokémon." Even though it was just a small change, Qian Lin was quite happy about it.

About an hour later, Qian Lin reached the top of the mountain in the scenic area. Beyond this point lay territory that ordinary people didn't tread. He checked the number of viewers in the livestream; it hadn't risen much, but the previous audience hadn't left either, likely waiting for an answer.

Qian Lin smiled. "I’m going to enter the forest behind this area now. Since I’m here for camping and education rather than survival, I’ve brought plenty of supplies. I will provide information on every Pokémon we encounter, and I’ll answer any questions you have."

"However, Pokémon are very vigilant and won't approach strangers. So, when I encounter one, I will prioritize facing them, and I might not have the time to talk to you all."

"That's fine, I'm not here to watch you anyway."

[Page 2/3]

"Exactly, exactly, I'm here for the Pokémon, who wants to watch you?"

"You don't have to talk, just remember to tell us the names of the Pokémon."

"I think that works."

"Am I the only one who thinks it’s impressive that the streamer hasn't even been out of breath after climbing for so long?"

"You're not alone."

"Damn, I didn't even notice until you said that. This streamer has something going for him."

He indeed did. Qian Lin knew that his body had been modified by the system. While he wasn't on par with a "Super Rookie Trainer," his physical constitution was more than three times that of an average person in this world. At the very least, climbing this mountain wasn't tiring.

"So, it’s time for some real education. Please take your seats, your 'Brother Qian' is about to start the lecture." Qian Lin made a small joke, laughing as he crossed the guardrail and headed into the deeper, natural forest.

It had to be said that areas untouched by humans looked much more natural—or, to put it plainly, it was a mess. If not for his compass, he wouldn't even know which way was which. Qian Lin finally understood why some hikers went missing in the mountains.

"That’s why, if it’s not necessary, don't enter the mountains alone. It’s very dangerous." Qian Lin brushed aside branches snagging his backpack, complaining with a helpless expression. "If I had known, I would have gone somewhere easier to traverse."

It was just a complaint, though. The ecology here was well-preserved, and the chances of encountering Pokémon were very high.

Sure enough, there was a Rattata foraging up ahead.

Qian Lin stopped and aimed the camera at the distant Rattata.

"I know this one! The officials call it a 'Purple Rat.' I heard they always appear in groups and have strong combat power—they can bite through a gun in one go."

"Wow, streamer, run!"

"Is... is this really not dangerous?"

The people in front of their screens gasped. How did this "Purple Rat" look friendly in any way?

"Rattata aren't exactly friendly," Qian Lin said with a helpless smile. "They’re just like rats; they chew on everything, spend their days foraging, and they are social creatures. If you see one, there are definitely more around."

The moment Qian Lin spoke, the Rattata suddenly turned its head, dropped to all fours, and made a vigilant sound: "Rata~"

Qian Lin didn't mind. He took an apple from his backpack, placed it on the ground, and slowly backed away. "I mean no harm, Rattata. I’m just camping in the wild. Consider this apple an apology for disturbing you."

After saying that, Qian Lin whispered, "Rattata are very vigilant. Even if they're asleep, they'll wake up at the slightest noise. But they generally won't attack humans proactively because humans aren't on their menu, just like normal rats."

"Is that for real..."

"I've seen this monster before. It didn't attack me, but it kept intimidating me. I was so scared I just ran."

"I've seen one too, it just zipped away."

"By the way, how many apples did you bring, streamer?"

Perhaps it was because Qian Lin backed away, or perhaps the scent of the apple was tempting, but the Rattata became less vigilant. It just stared at Qian Lin without doing anything. Once Qian Lin had retreated a certain distance, the Rattata suddenly dashed forward at full speed.

The viewers in front of their screens felt their scalps tingle.

[Page 3/3]

"Holy crap! Run, streamer!"

"The monster is killing someone!"

"Call 120! No, call 110!!!"

"I suggest calling 119!!!"

"Stop yelling, can't you see the Rattata already ran away..."

Qian Lin looked at the chat with a smile. The Rattata had indeed rushed over, and honestly, Qian Lin was a little panicked for a second, but he quickly regained his composure. He saw the Rattata reach the apple with lightning speed, snatch it up, and disappear into a sprint before Qian Lin could even blink.

It was actually quite cute.

"Rattata just wanted to eat the apple," Qian Lin continued walking deeper into the forest, explaining as he went. "A Rattata's teeth grow for its entire life, so it constantly looks for things to gnaw on—trees, steel, food, anything. Since they also have high reproductive rates, their numbers are huge, and they spend almost every day looking for food."

"If you encounter a Rattata, don't panic, and don't attack it. Just throw some food down and slowly walk away. If you don't have food, face it and slowly retreat. Like I said, Rattata won't proactively attack humans."

Rattata really wouldn't; they were just like rats in the real world—afraid of people. They would only attack if you cornered them. However, it was different if they evolved into Raticate. Raticate were extremely aggressive; even if you were its trainer, if you annoyed it, it would bite you.

"I get it now. If you meet a Pokémon, don't panic, just post it on your social media, right?"

"To be honest, the streamer has really changed my perspective on these monsters."

"Still calling them monsters?"

"Pokémon!!!"

Qian Lin felt a sense of relief; at least his efforts weren't in vain.

However, to be fair, it wasn't so bad walking on a mountain with human trails earlier, but now that he was deep in the forest, it felt a bit creepy. He could hear the sounds of different Pokémon all around, but he couldn't see a single shadow.

Even Qian Lin felt a bit nervous at times like this.

"Streamer, streamer, did you come up with the names for these Pokémon?"

Suddenly, this question appeared in the chat. Qian Lin hesitated. He couldn't exactly tell the viewers that he had seen them in a game, could he?

After a moment of thought, he decided to tell a little white lie. "No. I once entered a very strange place that had data about Pokémon. I was trapped there for a long time, and because I was bored, I read through all that data."

"I don't know how much time passed, but suddenly I came out. I discovered that even though I had been there for so long, the world outside hadn't changed, and right at that moment, the Pokémon descended."

It was a silly lie. If he were anywhere else, nobody would believe him. But now that the Pokémon had actually descended, people would believe whatever the streamer said.

Whether it was true or not, who knew?
