Chapter 111: Nuzzling and Coaxing
"It was just a joke between a couple. I can't believe some people actually took it seriously."
Mo Niannian's Weibo post instantly set the internet ablaze.
She attached a photo: Jiang Hu was holding her with a look of complete satisfaction, while she looked at him with a hint of helplessness.
Mo Niannian: "Jiang Hu has had a very rough time in the past, and my heart aches for him. I have never once thought he did anything wrong; he is brave and a hero in my eyes."
Mo Niannian: "@Xinghua Entertainment, @Superstar Film and Television, @Huayu Media, regarding your spread of false information and defamation against Jiang Hu online, my company has initiated legal proceedings. The court hearing will be held shortly."
Mo Niannian: "@Jiang Xiuwen, it is time for us to settle our accounts."
With these few posts from Mo Niannian, the internet instantly collapsed.
As Weibo crashed, the gossip-hungry public immediately flocked to various social media platforms to share the news. Those platforms crashed as well.
First Weibo, then WeChat, then short-video platforms—in short, everything that could crash, did.
The heat surrounding this matter reached its peak at that moment. People were waiting for a reversal.
Mo Niannian did not disappoint; she released a series of evidence proving that they had framed Jiang Hu. The Weibo servers, which had barely recovered, crashed again, leaving programmers to weep as they worked through the night.
As soon as the site was back up, the comments section was flooded.
"Here comes the whitewashing. Heh, the power of capital is truly immense."
"Disgusting."
"Just thinking that everything before was a lie makes me sick to my stomach."
"Give it a rest, please just go away."
"I believe in Jiang Hu. His eyes don't lie; he really, truly loves Mo Niannian."
"Isn't it just a bit of couple's fun? My boyfriend even tattooed his promise to me on his body. I watched those programs, too; they didn't seem fake."
"Keep spinning it, keep spinning it."
"Honestly, did Jiang Hu do anything wrong? If he hadn't saved his mother, would he have done those things? And now he's being reviled by countless people? Anyway, I really feel for him."
"What I'm curious about is, what does this have to do with Jiang Xiuwen?"
"Waiting for the follow-up."
While opinions on the web were divided, Mo Niannian moved with incredible speed. She collected all the evidence and handed it to her lawyers, suing everyone involved—including the keyboard warriors who had been viciously insulting and spreading rumors about Jiang Hu online.
At first, no one believed Mo Niannian's talk of legal letters. Many celebrities claim they will take legal action when refuting rumors, but in reality, very few actually do.
One reason is that it is time-consuming and exhausting, with no guarantee of success.
Another reason is that there are simply too many people involved; the law cannot punish everyone at once.
There were so many people spreading these messages online that it seemed impossible for Mo Niannian to sue them all one by one. But they forgot one thing: Mo Niannian was wealthy, and she didn't care about the effort—what she wanted was to make a statement and secure justice.
The major companies didn't take Mo Niannian's words seriously at first. They were industry giants; why would they fear her?
But then, Mo Niannian actually sued them all, attaching detailed internal documents from their own companies to the filings.
Panic ensued. They couldn't understand how Mo Niannian had obtained these files. These were supposed to be their strictly confidential internal secrets.
In this industry, who is truly clean? There were countless underhanded tactics buried in their files. Now that their lifelines were in Mo Niannian's hands, if she released them, they would be finished.
They panicked and began trying to contact her.
Mo Niannian had no time for them; she was busy digging into Jiang Xiuwen's background. The more she looked, the more she found—his history was a mountain of filth.
He had been in the entertainment industry for many years, always projecting the image of a gentle, kind-hearted senior who would occasionally mentor newcomers. He had hidden his true self very well. For all these years, no one had discovered his true face.
Jiang Xiuwen had engaged in sexual relations with dozens of people in the industry and even fans—some of whom were minors!
Jiang Xiuwen’s methods were sophisticated: once he set his sights on a target, he would slowly start treating them with kindness until they were head-over-heels in love with him. Then, through a mix of coercion and manipulation, he would initiate a relationship. This way, his actions wouldn't be exposed, and those fans would even protect his secrets for him.
To this day, he still maintained improper relationships with over a dozen people.
However, there were "accidents"... those who regretted their involvement or tried to expose his secrets all ended up dead. Mo Niannian didn't believe for a second that these weren't Jiang Xiuwen's doing.
Jiang Xiuwen was a devil in human skin. It truly confirmed the old saying: "Hell is empty, and all the devils are here."
Furious, Mo Niannian dumped all the information, including exact dates and locations. She only withheld the names of the girls, using code names instead. The entire affair was horrific, and the person behind it was none other than the industry's beloved "nice guy," Jiang Xiuwen.
The internet exploded.
The police arrived at his door and arrested Jiang Xiuwen. After the investigation was completed, everything was made public. It was all true—Jiang Xiuwen had indeed committed such monstrous acts.
The most unbelievable part was that even now, the girls who had been manipulated by Jiang Xiuwen were still speaking up for him, claiming it had all been consensual. It showed just how deep his influence went.
With Jiang Xiuwen behind bars, the major entertainment companies were even more terrified. There were things even they hadn't known, yet Mo Niannian had uncovered them all. Did that mean she also knew about the dirty, rotten secrets within their own companies?
If she were to dump all of that, wouldn't they be finished?
They began pulling strings and finding connections to reach Mo Niannian. Mo Niannian, however, intended to let them sweat for a few days. When they were framing Jiang Hu, did they think about a day like this? They were getting exactly what they deserved.
Mo Niannian’s fingers flew across her keyboard, and the internal documents of various companies appeared before her.
The system was stunned: [Host, you can do this?! Why did you make me look it up?!]
Mo Niannian took a moment to brush the system off: "That was just to give you a sense of value."
Such tedious work was something she generally preferred not to do herself.
The system: [...So, should I thank you?]
Mo Niannian replied smoothly: "You're welcome."
The system retreated into its own digital void, feeling utterly useless. Compared to its host, it was a total failure.
"Niannian~ Are you still busy?" Jiang Hu, looking as if he had no bones in his body, leaned against her as he sat by her side.
Mo Niannian couldn't be bothered to pay him any mind, continuing her work. Honestly, if it weren't for Jiang Hu, she wouldn't have had to worry about any of this. It was all his fault.
Yet, the perpetrator himself had no clue about the severity of the situation. He looked at her with longing, his eyes practically glued to her.
"Niannian~"
Seeing that she ignored him, he secretly wrapped his arms around her waist, nuzzling against her and acting spoiled.
