In the residential dormitory, Ji Yu, lying on his bed, opened his eyes.

He had been abruptly ejected from the game.

His time was up.

“Are you kidding me? I’d only just turned the succubus into a little fairy, and before I could even see what happened next, I get thrown out?”

Ji Yu’s face went dark.

There was nothing to be done about it. But not being able to witness the succubus waking up did not mean he could not use the resonance of his soul, or his mental link, to instruct Little Deer to handle the aftermath.

So the moment he woke, Ji Yu immediately closed his eyes again and began guiding and observing Little Deer through the soul bond shared with his avatar.

——

Within the forest corridor.

It was only half past eleven at night, and the violet moon still hung high in the sky.

Inside the domain, Little Deer gazed curiously at the little fairy on the ground, looking thrilled beyond measure.

“The big, bad woman turned into a tiny little woman. That’s so amazing.”

With its father’s control absent, Little Deer’s thoughts immediately grew lively.

It gently tapped the still-unconscious little fairy on the ground with its huge hoof.

The little fairy did not move.

Little Deer tapped her again, then walked in circles around her.

“Is she asleep?”

Little Deer stared with wide, curious eyes and nudged the little fairy once more.

Then the little fairy suddenly opened her eyes.

The sight was like a corpse abruptly coming awake, and it startled Little Deer badly.

The instant the little fairy opened her eyes, her gaze was unfocused, but very quickly her pupils contracted and color slowly returned to them.

She looked up at the sky, then at Little Deer’s enormous head before her, and remained unmoved, as though she had not yet fully returned to herself.

Ignoring the gigantic deer looming over her, the little fairy raised her delicate hands before her eyes.

Staring at her own hands, she looked utterly bewildered.

She sat up.

Then she looked around the domain in confusion.

Afterward, she shook her head, as if trying to clear it and wake herself fully.

The little fairy felt as though she had just endured a very, very long nightmare, in which she had become a tremendously powerful woman.

In some wasteland, no living being had been her match.

She slaughtered, she thirsted for blood, and she existed there alone for a very long, very long time.

All of it truly felt like a nightmare.

Suddenly, the little fairy noticed movement beside her, and at once she came back to herself and looked to her side.

——

Looking at Little Deer’s legs, her gaze slowly moved upward, until at last it met Little Deer’s own eyes.

One pair was bright and pure; the other was curious and excited.

Seeing the giant being before her, the little fairy was not afraid. Instead, the scent of Little Deer filled her with such comfort that she felt at ease.

That feeling was like the one she had known at her birth, when she had met certain mighty natural spirits in a beautiful forest.

The memories of long ago were broken and scattered.

Yet even so, she could still feel that her sense of ease was no illusion.

The little fairy beat her wings and rose into the air.

She flew to Little Deer’s head and looked into its eyes.

A happy smile blossomed on her face, and she slowly moved closer to Little Deer’s nose.

Little Deer, in its curiosity, watched her quietly.

The little fairy’s tiny hand touched Little Deer’s nose.

And in that instant, Little Deer inexplicably felt that it had formed some strange emotional connection with this little woman before it.

It could feel the little fairy’s mood at that moment.

Curiosity, excitement, nostalgia, and a complicated tangle of other feelings.

Little Deer did not understand, but that did not stop it from blinking at the little fairy and sending back a feeling of affection.

And at that moment, the little fairy became even happier.

She gave Little Deer a sweet smile, then fluttered down to stand on the tip of its nose.

Thus, the two wondrous beings reached a kind of tacit understanding.

Little Deer was overjoyed.

It felt that it and the little fairy had become friends.

Yes, friends—my friend, my very first friend.

Its friend was curious about this place.

Little Deer naturally would not refuse.

Happy, it wanted to take this friend of its to see its homeland.

But looking at the illusory forest corridor within the domain, Little Deer’s expression suddenly dimmed a little.

That sorrow lasted only an instant, because Little Deer had another idea.

It wanted to take the little fairy to meet its herd of deer.

So, having no sense of the boundary between domains, Little Deer promptly set off to leave the domain.

Originally, the succubus should not have been able to leave the domain born of the violet moon. But by now, she was no longer a succubus.

Thus, the moment Little Deer crossed the boundary of the domain, the little fairy was not blocked by it, nor did she turn transparent and vanish.

The little fairy stepped out of the domain.

She was no longer the chaotic kind of life form native to the world of the violet moon, but a normal life form belonging to nature, to the ordinary world.

——

Outside Nanzawa City, in the South-West Army Command Center of the Lion Nation.

The suspended reconnaissance drone lowered its altitude and conducted a low-flying survey.

The image immediately became clear, and although Little Deer was still rendered as a moving two-dimensional figure, the little fairy’s form was now faithfully projected onto the giant screen in the command room.

Seeing this wondrous being, transformed from a life of the violet moon, everyone fell silent.

And after the silence, the first to speak was Professor Qin.

“It’s a miracle. A miracle!”

“Life from the violet moon has actually been purified by Spirit Falcon!”

Professor Qin’s face was flushed with excitement.

His expression was filled with the fanaticism proper to a researcher.

That expression even infected the others around him.

“Spirit Falcon’s value far exceeds anything we imagined.”

“If he can purify the life of the violet moon, then that means he can also help us cure those patients!”

“This is wonderful news! Truly earth-shattering news. The strategy we adopted was absolutely correct, and far beyond what we had originally imagined.”

Professor Qin shouted to everyone, then quickly walked to the front of the giant screen and continued admiring the little fairy’s form.

“This little fairy-like creature is truly such an exquisite and wondrous life. It’s astonishing.”

Like a boy who had laid eyes on the girl of his dreams, Professor Qin’s eyes burned with heat.

He turned and said, “Commander Xue, we should report everything that happened here to Parliament at once!”

“No—no, that won’t do. I’m going to meet Spirit Falcon myself!”

Having said that, Professor Qin showed not the slightest trace of decorum, and suddenly bolted out of the command room at great speed.

Watching the rather mad-looking Professor Qin, no one stopped him.

Because everything that had just happened had truly made everyone feel that Little Deer needed to be reassessed.

Commander Xue’s expression did not change, yet a taut string within him, long stretched tight, slowly began to loosen.

The appearance of the violet moon, and the dangers it brought, had always been a troublesome issue for the military.

The burden of protecting the nation and its people was a depth of pressure ordinary minds could not fathom.

And in these past three years, many soldiers had died because of it.

Unsung heroes were everywhere, and that was precisely why, when it had first seemed that Little Deer might have been born from the violet moon, Xue Zhengde had always harbored prejudice toward him.

But now, that prejudice was already beginning to fade little by little in Xue Zhengde’s mind.
